ABSTRACT
Diarrhea is a condition which is person has diarrhea, frequent bowel movements, a
watery stool and sometimes vomiting. Especially in mothers who have children under five
years old, knowledge of diarrheal prevention is very important to reduce the incidence of
diarrhea. This study aims to determine the relationship of mother knowledge about
prevention of diarrhea with the incidence of diarrhea in toddlers in Minanga Public Health
Manado.
This research was conducted on May 23-31, 2018 in Minanga Municipal Public Health
Region of Manado. This research is a coleration analytic with &using Cross Sectional
approach, with 41 respondents who entered in inclusion and eksklusion criteria sampling by
Accidental Sampling. The measuring tool is the questionnaire. Hypothesis test is Chi-SquareI
(X2) with significance = 0,05.
The result of this research is obtained from statistical test of chi-square (pearson chi-
square) with SPSS yield p-value equal to 0,020, it means p-value <0,05, so Ha accepted
because there is on relationship. The conclusions indicate that there is a significant
relationship between Mother Knowledge about Diarrhea Disease and Diarrhea Occurrence
at Toddler in Work Minanga Public Health Center of Manado City. The results of this study
to increase knowledge and information about prevention of diarrhea in order to prevent the
occurrence of recurrent diarrhea events in infants.
