Focus: control *play light* - sound/dynamics (What role does your part play?)

m. 21 – m. 49
(Notice: m. 39 is just like m. 13 only a little softer)
Focus: the melody in this section and rhythmic accuracy for the rest of the band *play light*
Rehearsal 6 – 4/3
Beginning – m. 49
Focus: piecing this first half together
(including accelerando into m. 48 racing against time – cut off on m. 50)

m. 48 – m. 79
Focus: Really work on locking in a groove, especially with percussion! If that
takes all of rehearsal so be it, probably won’t though. Rhythmic accuracy. Slow it down! *play
light* (work with percussion – see xylophone part). Once groove it set, work on lows melody at m.
56 and then Fl. Cl. Ob. Tr. take it over at m. 64. Check harmony lines: alto, tenor, horn
Rehearsal 9 – 4/12
m. 48 – end
Focus: piece it together; keep it together
Wind Ensemble

Rehearsal 10 – 4/17

Run through the whole piece and fix areas that still need work (beginning may need some more as it has been a while)
What story are we telling with this piece? It involves a train and a movie theater… it’s up to you (the ensemble)
