CORRELATION OF LIPID PROFILE WITH ISCHEMIC STROKE AT RSUD

ABSTRACT
Background : Stroke was a major problem faced almost all over the world.Acute
stroke attacks caused physical disability, mental, and sudden high mortality rate both
in the productive age and old age. It was reported that the number of stroke cases in
Palu city 2015 was 194 men and 156 women. Ischemic stroke was caused by
blockage of fat accumulation or blood clots in the blood vessels that cause reduced
blood flow to the brain.
Objective : To determine Lipid Profile on the incidence of ischemic stroke at RSUD
Undata Palu period of January 2014-December 2016
Methods : The research is an observational analytic study using cross-sectional
design. The sampling technique was total sampling, which were 52 patients. 41
patients diagnosed with Ischemic Stroke and 11 patients Were diagnosed with non-
stroke Ischemic
Results : Based on the 52 samples studied, the results of test using chi-square test
obtained (0.002 <0.05) probability value for the relation total cholesterol with
ischemic stroke. (0,000 <0.05) Probability value for the relation of LDL cholesterol
with ischemic stroke. (0.034 <0.05) Probability value for the relation of HDL
cholesterol with ischemic stroke. (0.032 <0.05) Probability value for the relation of
of triglyceride with ischemic stroke.
Conclusion : There was correlation between lipid profile with ischemic stroke at
RSUD Undata Palu period january 2014-december 2016. In this study, increased of
lipid profile tends to increase the incident of ischemic stroke
