Windows Server 2008 R2 – Roles Installation
2. Domain Name System (DNS) SERVER -> Click (CLOSE THIS WIZARD AND LAUNCH THE
ACTIVE DIRECTORY DOMAIN SERVICES INSTALLATION WIZARD(dcpromo.exe) ->NEXT->NEXT->
Click Create a new domain in a new forest->
-> NEXT -> type in your domain in FQDN of the Forest root Domain ((Ex.(CSS.com)) ->
NEXT
->Forest functional Level=Windows Server 2008->NEXT ->Forest functional
Level=Windows Server 2008 R2 -> NEXT
-> Check DNS Server -> Next -> YES-> Next ->Add your Password Ex.(C1sc0123) then
Confirm type again your password. -> Next -> Next -> CHECK REBOOT ON COMPLETION.
pls. wait for your pc to restart!
4. Files Services - Server Manager-> Click roles-> Add Roles-> Files Services
->NEXT ->NEXT ->NEXT ->Install -> Close
5. Print and Document Services - Server Manager-> Click roles-> Add Roles
-> Print and Document Services -> Next -> Next -> Next -> Install.
7. Remote Desktop Services - Server Manager-> Click roles-> Add Roles-> Remote
Desktop Services -> Next -> Next -> Click Remote Desktop Session Host -> CLICK =
Install Remote Desktop Session Host anyway (not recommended)
-> NEXT ->NEXT -> Click Do not require Network Level Authentication -> Next
-> Next -> Next -> Install -> click Close -> do you want to restart now? click YES!
-> pls. Don't do anything after the server pc is done restarting just wait
for it to confirm that Remote Desktop Session is Installed Completely. then just
click CLOSE!
Note: After restart the server pc will ask for username and password. Just
type administrator as username and C1sc0123 as your password.
Part III.
Setting up Windows Server 2008
I. Create (2) Organizational Unit (OU) & (2) User Accounts in each OU.
I.A -> before Creating 2 (OU) & 2 User Accounts, First Create 2 Folder on
your Local Disk D:
Name it Drive Mapping & Folder Redirection.
-> Folder Sharing ->>>>>>> Right Click Drive Mapping-> Properties-> Sharing->
Click Share-> on the Drop Down Menu Find the word Everyone and Click Add ->
Permission Level of Everyone will be READ/WRITE -> Click Share -> click Done ->
->> Click Advanced Sharing-> Permissions
Full Control Check means allow
Change Check means allow
Read Check means allow
-> Click Apply then Ok - Click Apply then Ok last click CLOSE.

VP VP1 & VP2
ADMIN ADMIN1 & ADMIN2
-> First and foremost go to Local Disk D: -> then Right Click Drive Mapping
-> Properties -> sharing -> then COPY the NETWORK PATH: (example: \\WIN-
SERVER\Drive Mapping ) then close.
-> start menu -> administrative tools -> Active Directory Users and
computers -> click ADMIN OU then on the right side Right Click ADMIN1 -> Properties
-> Profile -> Home Folder ->
-> then right click TO: then PASTE Example = TO: \\WIN-SERVER\Drive
Mapping\ADMIN1
-> click Apply then OK.
-> First and foremost go to Local Disk D: -> then Right Click FOLDER
REDIRECTION -> Properties -> sharing -> then COPY the NETWORK PATH: (example:
\\WIN-SERVER\FOLDER REDIRECTION ) then close.
-> Start menu -> administrative tools -> Group Policy Management->
-> Right Click CSS.COM -> Create a GPO in this domain, and link it here... ->
Name FOLDER REDIRECTION -> click OK.
-> Right Click FOLDER REDIRECTION -> Click Edit
-> Click the + User Configuration -> click + Policies -> click Windows
Settings -> click + FOLDER REDIRECTION.
-> Right Click Desktop -> Properties -> Target -> Setting: then Click the
Drop Down menu -> click BASIC-REDIRECT EVERYONE'S FOLDER TO THE SAME LOCATION.
-> Find ROOT PATH: then Paste the Network Path: (( example: \\WIN-
SERVER\FOLDER REDIRECTION
-> click Apply -> click Yes -> click OK

-> Right Click Documents -> Properties -> Target -> Setting: then Click the
Drop Down menu -> click BASIC-REDIRECT EVERYONE'S FOLDER TO THE SAME LOCATION.
-> Find ROOT PATH: then Paste the Network Path: (( example: \\WIN-
SERVER\FOLDER REDIRECTION
-> click Apply -> click Yes -> click OK
IV. Printer Sharing and Deployment (Configuration (Install the Printer on Windows
Server 2008)

-> First Install your Printer, in this case we have EPSON L120.
-> If you have an installer just double click it and Follow the Instructions
on the screen.
-> Double Click Epson L120 64bit (64bit) -> on the printer model check if
EPSON L120 SERIES is selected and click OK. -> click OK -> click I agree-> click OK
-> then POWER ON the printer if the onscreen EPSON PRINTER UTILITIES SETUP
appears. Then just wait for it to finish and click OK to finish printer
installation.
-> Open a browser then type the IP on the Address bar example:
192.168.0.254 then press enter.
-> then it will ask you for the username and password. just look under the
WAP device the following Username & Password
-> example username: admin and the password: admin.
-> click on the MODE and select ACCESS POINT then click SAVE!
-> then it will ask you to reboot the device just click YES to reboot.
-> LOGIN again using same credentials. then go to WIRELESS -> WIRELESS
SETTINGS -> NETWORK NAME (SSID): STATION1
-> Next on the drop down menu SECURITY: WPA/WPA2 - PERSONAL (RECOMMENDED)
-> Then on your password: type C1sc0123
-> Lastly don't forget to click SAVE
-> then Close the browser and disconnect the end of your STRAIGHT THROUGH
cable from your laptop and connect it to your SWITCH.
-> check the ip address of your laptop and desktop pc-> remember on your
keyboard just Press windows button + R then type CMD -> and type ipconfig.
in this example it is the ip address address of your Laptop pc using a
wireless connection or WIFI connection.
check your Connection-specific DNS Suffix it should be css.com the name
of your DOMAIN.
and check your IP ADDRESS and Default Gateway.
NOTE: SAME Procedure if you have a windows 7 client & SAME procedure with
your LAPTOP PC.
