KCC COACHES
ERIN LANE Head Coach
Coach Lane enters her first season as the Men’s and Women’s Cross
Country Coach for the Bruins. This season marks the return of Cross
Country to KCC. In the early 1970’s KCC had cross country as an
intercollegiate sport.

A Battle Creek native, Coach Lane was a standout runner at Battle

Creek Central and Pennfield high schools. She earned several running
honors in high school, including three state 800-meter titles, several
USA Track & Field National Champion titles at the 800 and 1500-meter
levels and a state runner-up finish in cross country. Lane earned a
full athletic scholarship at the University of Michigan after high school
to run cross country and track, where she contributed to three Big
Ten team titles and graduated with a degree in Sports Management
and Communication.

Professionally, Coach Lane is the Director at the Battle Creek Christian

Early Learning Center. Lane was an assistant track and cross country
coach at Olivet College from 2004-2006 and also the track and cross
country coach at Pennfield Middle School from 2016-2018. She also
was a site coordinator and coach for the Girls on the Run, a community
running program for young girls in 2012 & 2013.

Rob Lillie Assistant Coach

Coach Lillie enters his first season with the Bruins. Lillie graduated
from Western Michigan University in 2002 with an Exercise Science
degree and has worked in the running community for over 20
years. His previous professional experience includes working for
Gazelle Sports in Kalamazoo zoo for over 18 years before starting
his own business, Lillie Training & Inspiration. His passion for
running has helped him to develop his business that focuses on
working with athletes to increase speed and develop the proper
physiology and mechanics for running injury free.

Brad Polnasek Assistant Coach

Coach Polnasek enters his first season with the Bruins. Polnasek
is a Jackson Lumen Christi High School graduate and received his
teaching degree from Albion College while playing two sports
collegiately. He is in his 9th year as a public school teacher,
currently teaching middle and elementary physical education with
the Pennfield school district. Polnasek has coached various sports
over the years, including the head cross country coach at Colon
Community Schools.
