ABSTRACT

The journey of my research started with the question "what is an art?" this question lead me
to another question "what is an abstract?" and how art and abstract are connected? I was
fascinated by a thought of abstractionism, what exactly abstractionism means and how do we
define abstractionism? If abstractionism is an expression which confined artist emotion, do
that impact viewer or users, if so how? With these my research begins.

In attempt of defining the term ‘abstract expressionism’ through art and architecture. The
study process is done in stages of analysis of art, architecture their inter-relationship and
impact. Here the study is done through the process of understanding the concept of
abstractionism in respect to the architect ZAHA HADID who herself an artist.

The investigation handles the architectural pattern based on its theoretical concept as well the
techniques Hadid uses to generate such ingenious project in art and architecture.

The process evolved through time is identified and classified. Also the future study process
is done on seeking abstract expressionism in the process of Zaha Hadid. It is then
compared to a similar art process.

The above process is analysed through an architect who connects art and virtual architecture
through space.

THIS RESEARCH IS BASED ON THE VIRTUAL PROCESS ANALYSIS AND

IMPACT OF IT, THE PROCESS STUDIED THROUGH ARCHITECT "ZAHA
HADID"-THE ONE WHO CONNECTS VIRTUAL IMAGINATION AND
ARCHITECTURE.

A considerable number of architectural students, architects, and designers of fashion and

furniture around the world who admire Zaha Hadid‘s works generally find it difficult to
understand her way of designing form. Therefore, this study‘s aims are to find out her
techniques of generating creative forms and to investigate whether there are any form
patterns in her works. Moreover, the study emphasises her strategy of designing architectural
form as well as the principles she uses. Research methodology was a qualitative study using
descriptive, analytical, and exploratory methods.
