Abstract

Background: Acute Upper Respiratory Infection still becomes one of health problems in
society that needs to have attention because it is an acute disease that may lead to death
of children in developing countries, including Indonesia which has a lot of population under
the level of economic standard.
Objective: This research aimed to find out the correlation between home environment and
immunization status and the occurrence of AURI in children of 1-5 years old at Puskesmas
Temindung Samarinda.
Result: The result of statistical test using Fisher’s Exact Test showed that the expected
cell value was lower than 5, so that it was found that the p value (0.000) was lower than
0.05 which means that ho was rejected, indicating that there was a significant correlation
between environment status and the occurrence of AURI in children of 1-5 years old at
Puskesmas Temindung. The result of multivariate analysis showed that X value (33.022) >
X table, namely 5.991 or at the significance level of 0.000 < 0.05. The result of analysis
using logistic regression analysis showed that the sub-variables of immunization status and
home environment had the p value < 0.05, namely 0.000 > 0.05. From the result of
multivariate analysis, it can be concluded that home environment variable and
immunization had a correlation with the occurrence of AURI
Conclusion: There was a correlation between home environment, immunization status
