The area of study that I was able to pick was in front of our house in LaVerna Hills, Buhangin, Davao City.
The road in front of our house was built by our workers only and was designed by my father. My father did not
follow/use the standard required strength of the cement used for building roads which is why the road in front of our
house had problems. The road in front of our house was nice at first but as time passed by, it started to have holes in
it until it became puddles where its top layer was already scraped out of the road. It seemed to be like that the
concrete wasn’t mixed well since it was not mixed using a concrete mixer. The concrete used was only mixed
manually. The mixing part alone may be one of the causes why our road is not in good condition. Also, the
proportion of water, cement, and aggregates when making the road may be not the proper proportion which could be
another reason why the road in front of our house has a lot of crooked parts that seems to be like not a concrete road
anymore. This issue concerning the road in front of our house may have not happened if only the required psi used
for concrete roads was considered by my dad though I can understand why my dad did not use the proper psi since
the road should have been cemented by the government and not by us. The road could have been better if and only if
the government acted a lot faster than us in cementing the road. The only solution I can think of is that to destroy the
concrete road in front of our house and then create a new one again that already has the right proportions and the
correct strength of concrete so that the road that will be built will not be the same as it was before. The government
should be the one to cement the road already since it is their job to cement the government roads.
