00:05 making this presentation it said I'm 00:09 going to share some information with you 00:11 that it could change the direction of 00:13 your life like night and day and when I 00:17 say that I want you to really stop and 00:20 take a look at your life take an honest 00:23 look at your life I was thinking just 00:26 before I start to make this we have 00:28 actually been conditioned to kid with 00:31 ourselves to lie to ourselves to not 00:35 really take an honest look at the 00:38 results we're getting I want you to take 00:41 a real honest look at your results and 00:45 when you look at them ask yourself am i 00:49 living the way I really want to live you 00:53 see most people aren't one of the first 00:56 questions I ask a person that comes to 00:57 work with me I want to know what's the 01:00 most I've ever earned in a year now I 01:02 really don't care what the answer is but 01:04 I want to know what the answer is 01:05 because you see if if a person says the 01:11 most I've ever earned in years $50,000 I 01:14 know where their mind is programmed and 01:16 if they tell me the most they've ever 01:19 earned is two hundred and fifty thousand 01:21 dollars I know where they're programmed 01:23 and then I want to find out what they 01:26 want and I know then what has to shift 01:31 because their mind is programmed and if 01:34 they're really going to live the way 01:35 they want to live they they've got to 01:39 change the program and if they don't 01:41 change the program then nothing really 01:43 happens now what I'm going to share with 01:46 you I've been studying for a long time 01:48 I'm going to put some PowerPoint slides 01:52 right up here and on those powerpoints 01:55 and I'm going to tell you a story and 01:58 it's a story about me and it's a story 02:01 about you and it's a story about what 02:02 we're capable of doing what we're really 02:04 capable of doing 02:05 you see I I started to study this 02:09 information and fifty four years ago 02:13 in fact last October I started my 55th 02:17 year of studying this now that's longer 02:18 than probably many of you are living 02:20 maybe longer and your parents have been 02:22 living but I've studied it every day I 02:25 become absolutely fascinated with this 02:28 information and as I go through this I 02:31 think you're going to be fascinated with 02:32 it now I didn't always have this 02:35 information today I have a company that 02:37 operates all over the world or in 02:39 millions of dollars I have some 02:40 wonderful friends and I live an 02:43 interesting life when I wake up in the 02:45 morning I know that I'm going to be 02:47 doing what I love all day long and I'm 02:49 going to be extremely well paid for it 02:51 but you know it wasn't always like that 02:53 I have to go back to 1961 and in 1961 02:59 and then gave me this book and that's 03:03 when everything in my life started to 03:05 change the book is thinking Grow Rich 03:08 and there was a huge shift in the 03:13 direction of my life now I'm not going 03:15 to be on here long maybe I don't know an 03:18 hour but in that hour I'm going to 03:20 suggest that you could change everything 03:23 in your life you see today can be the 03:26 turning point in your life by making a 03:30 simple decision but if you don't make 03:33 decisions you're going to stay right 03:34 where you are we have to make decisions 03:36 if we're going to change we have to 03:41 change the direction that we're going 03:42 and when we change the direction we're 03:45 going and then we want to make sure 03:48 we're going in the right direction 03:49 because if we're not and we're going to 03:54 either go backwards or we're going to 03:56 stay where we are now I I had something 04:00 pretty interesting happen when I 04:02 committed to study this material every 04:05 day and and follow proven direction the 04:13 change that took place was enormous and 04:16 you know it can be for you now there's 04:18 one thing that you absolutely require if 04:20 you're going to make a big change and 04:22 that's discipline see without discipline 04:25 nothing happens and I found that this 04:27 is the ability to give ourself a command 04:30 and then follow it now I'm going to 04:33 suggest as we go through this and I I 04:36 suggest you make some decisions don't 04:38 look at somebody else and say what are 04:39 you going to do to see what they're 04:41 going to do has absolutely nothing to do 04:43 with where you're going it's what are 04:45 you going to do that's what really makes 04:48 the difference now I've worked with tens 04:53 of thousands of people all over the 04:54 world and I've watched some absolutely 04:57 phenomenal changes take place I've 04:58 watched kids go from a Sindhi average to 05:00 an donnersmarck almost overnight I am I 05:05 would have difficulty counting all the 05:07 people that have gone from ordinary 05:09 incomes to multi million dollars you see 05:12 earning money is not difficult it's just 05:15 that hardly anyone knows how to do it 05:17 and for good reason we can go right to 05:19 our school system and no one ever 05:21 teaches us how to earn money and for 05:23 good reason they don't know how to earn 05:25 money now is earning money all this is 05:28 about 05:28 absolutely not this is about living the 05:31 way you want to live now I've been 05:34 traveling all over the world I started 05:36 to study this and great change took 05:39 place and then I want to know why I 05:41 change and so I started studying from a 05:43 different perspective I want to know 05:44 what happened to me which I'll talk 05:46 again about in a moment 05:47 and so I began to study and then when I 05:49 figured it out got the dots to connect 05:52 all I wanted to do was share it with 05:54 other people and everywhere I've gone 05:58 around the world I have found that 06:00 people are essentially the same now I've 06:02 worked in China I worked in South 06:04 America I worked in Australia in New 06:07 Zealand all over Asia and across all 06:09 over North America and certainly all 06:11 over in Europe and people are 06:15 essentially the same doesn't matter 06:16 where you've gone to curfew Shanghai in 06:18 Kosovo or in New York City I have found 06:21 that there's three things you know 06:23 frequently after a seminar I'll sit 06:25 around and I'll chat with some of the 06:26 people maybe that we're late leaving the 06:29 room and I'll call them aside now say 06:31 what do you really want and I found that 06:35 not everybody wants to be really wealthy 06:37 but what they do want they want to 06:40 eliminate 06:41 any financial concerns in other words if 06:44 they want to get a new car they want to 06:45 be able to get it if they want to take a 06:47 trip they want to be able to take the 06:48 trip or if they see a sweater or a dress 06:52 or suit they'd like they want to be able 06:54 to buy it they don't want to be 06:56 wondering and we're going to have enough 06:59 to pay the mortgage they want to 07:02 eliminate financial concerns the second 07:04 thing they want is they want to wake up 07:07 in the morning and be excited about how 07:09 they're going to spend their day see a 07:11 lot of people are tied up in traffic 07:13 going to a job they don't like working 07:15 for somebody that is possibly even 07:17 incompetent and you can spend your days 07:21 doing which absolutely love to do and 07:23 the third thing they want to mix with 07:25 people who were really upbeat who are 07:27 enthusiastic people that are getting 07:30 becoming very creatively productive now 07:34 that is a pretty good way to live you 07:37 don't have any financial concerns you 07:39 spend your days doing what you love with 07:41 people who are upbeat and creatively 07:43 productive that's a good way to live 07:46 that's the way I live today but it 07:48 wasn't always like that 07:50 no it sure wasn't I had a man sit down 07:53 with me and he did essentially what I'm 07:56 going to do with you right now he said 07:58 Bob I want you to take a look at the 08:01 results you're getting in your life 08:02 really take a look at the results and 08:05 then he got me to think he said how do 08:09 results happen Bob how do they actually 08:12 happen and I didn't know he says do two 08:17 results just happen well of course 08:20 results don't just happen and this is 08:23 where this word man approached me back 08:25 in 1961 he he said I want to magnify the 08:29 results that you're getting in your life 08:31 really take a close look at it because 08:34 he said people are just falling short in 08:36 a couple of areas and he pointed out 08:39 that were only limited by weakness of 08:42 attention and poverty poverty of 08:44 imagination in other words we got to 08:45 stay focused and we've got to use our 08:47 imagination to build the kind of world 08:49 we really want now I think that's what 08:52 you want to do that's what I want to do 08:55 I don't think you were looking for 08:57 something to do when you sat down to 08:58 watch this you see I believe that you do 09:04 want to improve the quality of your life 09:06 and a man named Rhys Stanford sat down 09:10 with me a long time ago in 1961 and he 09:14 put an R on a sheet of paper and then he 09:17 put an H he said Bob that's happiness he 09:22 said that represents health and that 09:24 represents wealth now he said I want you 09:28 to look at those three areas of your 09:30 life are you getting what you want to 09:33 get are you doing what you want to do is 09:35 I'm going to tell you something about 09:36 results results always tell the truth by 09:42 their fruits you'll know them results 09:44 always tell the truth you can kid 09:46 yourself all over the place if you want 09:48 but look at the results 09:50 I have people they all tell me how much 09:52 they know about this or about that take 09:54 a look at the results the results tell 09:59 the truth if you're playing golf the 10:01 scorecard the scorecard tells the truth 10:04 you see now think your bank account 10:09 tells the truth 10:10 your sales cell tell the truth your 10:13 position in life the health of your body 10:15 and he looked at all these areas and he 10:17 said do you think I'm a healthy guy and 10:19 I said I seem pretty healthy to me he 10:21 said have you ever seen me sick 10:23 I said no he said have you ever seen me 10:26 broke no you think I'm a happy guy and I 10:30 said yeah I mean this he was a healthy 10:32 guy happy always had a roll of money on 10:35 him well he said you know something your 10:38 than one of the most miserable people 10:39 I've ever met and I was and he said 10:41 you're always sick and he said you're 10:43 always broke now he was being kind I was 10:47 earning $4,000 a year at the time but 10:50 look at this I owed six thousand dollars 10:53 that is not a good position to the end 10:55 you see if I had taken every set iron 10:58 for 18 months and paid debts I would 11:01 have just broken even it was an 11:04 impossible situation he said Bob why 11:07 don't you change your 11:08 results do you know something I don't 11:11 honestly don't believe that that ever 11:13 entered my mind 11:14 I really know you say well I must have 11:16 no I don't think it did I think I got up 11:18 in the morning and I just went to work I 11:20 did whatever I was doing and hoping 11:23 things would get better but never 11:25 sitting down and talking to someone that 11:28 really knew how to make it happen if you 11:31 want to fly a plane you don't go to a 11:34 barber and ask them how do you get the 11:37 plane off the ground if you want to 11:41 learn how to dance you don't go to a 11:44 mechanic you go to a damn good dancer it 11:48 doesn't matter what you want to do if 11:49 you're going to do something go to 11:51 someone who has demonstrated beep jokes 11:53 now this guy had demonstrated he was 11:55 happy he was healthy and it was wealthy 11:57 and he said do you ever read anything 12:00 and I said no I can't read now that 12:01 wasn't true I could not well but I could 12:04 and that's when he introduced me to this 12:10 book Think and Grow Rich and he said Bob 12:13 if you do exactly what I tell you and 12:16 you study this book and do exactly what 12:20 the author tells you said everything in 12:22 your life will change now he said the 12:24 man that wrote this book Napoleon Hill 12:27 spent his whole life putting this 12:29 together 12:29 it contains the best thinking of over 12:32 500 of the world's most successful 12:34 people listen I've been reading this one 12:36 now since 1961 12:39 now think about that's a long time he 12:44 said he spent his whole life writing 12:45 this he says I think would be a very 12:47 prudent move on your part if you spent 12:49 your life trying to understand and apply 12:50 it now I don't know why but I decided I 12:58 would now let me explain where I was 13:01 starting from I told you I was earning 13:04 $4,000 now it's 6 ok 13:07 I had two months high school two months 13:11 high school that was my formal education 13:13 I had never had a half-decent job I just 13:17 bounced from one job to another in the 13:19 bar working in a bar 13:21 in the Navy out of the day view working 13:22 in factories I've never had a 13:25 half-decent job now I had every reason 13:33 why I couldn't when he said Bob they're 13:35 reasons why you can't you've got to quit 13:36 thinking of those you just start 13:38 thinking of how you can he said do 13:40 exactly what I tell you and so you know 13:42 something I decided I would one year 13:45 later I was earning a hundred and 13:47 seventy five thousand dollars my life 13:51 changed like night and day 13:52 you say well what were you doing I was 13:56 cleaning officers and then I took it 13:57 over a million dollars I started 14:00 cleaning one office I would do anything 14:02 honest earn money I was earning about a 14:06 hundred dollars a week and I got an 14:08 office to claim where I would wash the 14:10 floor at twice a month I got thirty 14:12 dollars that I got another office $65 a 14:15 month kirby's construction now I'm up to 14:18 an extra hundred a month 14:19 do you know in less than five years I 14:21 was cleaning offices in Toronto Montreal 14:23 Boston Cleveland Atlanta and London 14:25 England 14:27 went right through the roof now if you 14:30 had asked me what I was doing I couldn't 14:32 tell you I would say I'm cleaning 14:33 offices I'm reading think and grow rich 14:36 but you know a lot of people are 14:37 cleaning offices they weren't doing I 14:39 was doing a lot of people had read Think 14:41 and Grow Rich they weren't doing I was 14:42 doing now I was trying to figure out how 14:45 the heck did this happen see I had been 14:48 raised to believe if you're gonna earn a 14:49 lot of money you're going to be really 14:50 smart well I know I wasn't that smart 14:53 but I was earning a lot of money I was 14:56 raised to believe if you're going to 14:57 have a good job you have to have a good 14:58 formal education I didn't have a good 15:01 formal education I didn't have a good 15:04 job I own the whole company and so I 15:07 started to study you see I thought I'm 15:11 believing in lies you don't have to be 15:13 smart during a lot of money there's 15:14 people that are functionally illiterate 15:16 they can neither read nor write and 15:18 they're earning millions of dollars 15:20 there's people heading up large 15:22 corporations that never been inside a 15:24 school now this is I'm not anti school I 15:27 made sure all my kids went through 15:29 school I just changed the question I 15:30 didn't ask mister are going to go as 15:31 somewhere that we're going to 15:34 I'm mentioning this because I believe 15:37 anyone can do anything if they can sit 15:40 down and write it out on a piece of 15:42 paper and then work at changing what's 15:45 going on inside see in 1990 Oh Joel 15:51 Barker wrote a book it's called 15:53 paradigms he said to be able to shape 15:55 your future you have to be willing and 15:57 able to change your paradigm now I had 16:01 no idea what a paradigm was and you 16:04 might ask yourself do you really know 16:06 what a paradigm is do you understand how 16:09 the mind works because the paradigm has 16:11 something to do with the mind I knew 16:12 nothing about it but the man that 16:19 encouraged me to study this put me on a 16:22 track where I just kept going from one 16:25 great mentor to another I was living in 16:29 Chicago at the time and I heard about a 16:30 man in Vancouver I was trying to figure 16:33 out why I changed I had left my own 16:35 business I went to work with her all 16:37 night yellow Lloyd Conan in Chicago 16:39 ended up being your Vice President of 16:40 Sales I would have gone there I would 16:43 have paid them to let me work there I 16:44 want to work with her own angel and like 16:46 conet because I wanted to study I want 16:49 to know why did I change I knew I wasn't 16:52 lucky and I heard him out a man in 16:55 Vancouver 16:56 somebody said Bob you should go and 16:58 listen to him so I got on a plane and I 17:00 flew to Vancouver at the end of the 17:02 seminar I when the guy got on the stage 17:04 I knew that he knew what he was talking 17:06 about there was just such certainty in 17:08 his talk and so at the end the seminar I 17:10 said I would like to I would like sit 17:13 down with you for a couple hours he said 17:15 you know I'd like to probably sit down 17:17 with you for a couple hours but he 17:18 looked at his watches I got to get out 17:20 of here I said I got to go now - I know 17:23 he said where you going I said go back 17:26 to Chicago he's what are you doing out 17:27 here I said I come out here you speak 17:29 now I think he was impressed that I had 17:31 traveled so far to listen to him so I 17:35 said look I'm not going to be in Chicago 17:36 anytime in the near future but I'm going 17:38 to be in Toronto and I said I'm from 17:40 Toronto I'll fly over I'll meet you over 17:42 there and so the two of us sat down in 17:43 the skyline 17:45 and we were there we're supposed to be 17:47 two three hours we were there for about 17:48 three days and he and I were as thick as 17:51 thieves right up until he died now he 17:53 introduced me to this idea that I'm 17:55 going to introduce you to and what I'm 17:57 going to show you is without question 17:59 the most powerful idea I have ever 18:01 learned and if you don't understand this 18:04 the odds of you making great changes are 18:06 very very slim I want you to look at the 18:09 mind and then look at paradigms but 18:11 let's personalize it let's look at your 18:14 mind and your paradigm now let that 18:18 drawing represent your mind that by the 18:21 way is the most valuable concept I have 18:23 ever learned 18:24 there's the conscious mind the 18:26 subconscious and the body 18:28 okay now the conscious mind is the 18:31 thinking mind do you know that the 18:33 average person does not think do you 18:35 know that thinking is a subject that's 18:37 not taught in school you say everybody 18:39 thinks hardly anyone thinks I remember 18:43 all night Gail used to say if the 18:45 average person said what they were 18:46 thinking they would be speechless you 18:48 know what we do we confuse mental 18:50 activity with thinking that's not 18:53 thinking listen to what most people are 18:56 saying they never say what they're 18:58 saying if they were thinking watch their 19:00 behavior they'd never do what they're 19:01 doing if they were thinking back in 1981 19:05 I picked up a paper boomer dr. Lawrence 19:07 rampell listen what he said thinking is 19:09 a skill which can be learned just as we 19:12 learn skills such as typing and playing 19:14 the piano whew public schools schools 19:16 offer courses devoted expressly to 19:19 teaching thinking rather we are expected 19:21 to learn and teach thinking as a bribe 19:24 product of learning mathematics reading 19:26 history science a trade and so forth and 19:29 we do learn a lot about thinking in that 19:31 way that trouble is we learn our 19:33 thinking skills and bits and pieces and 19:36 we never put it together as an overall 19:38 picture if asked to describe what all is 19:41 required in order to think effectively 19:45 most of us would be at a loss to give a 19:47 complete account thus we are unable to 19:51 assess our own thinking skills or 19:53 systematically teach the skill of 19:55 thinking to others well it's with your 19:57 conscious mind you 19:58 think this is also we call the educated 20:01 mind and I'm going to come back to that 20:03 because I'm going to show you just how 20:04 far off track we get with that 20:07 now this where our intellect is resident 20:09 and as the intellectual factors that 20:11 give you the ability to be the creative 20:13 ability you say you're created in God's 20:17 image well that's where the creative 20:19 faculty comes in in our intellectual 20:23 factors you have perception the will 20:24 reason imagination memory intuition 20:28 now the subconscious mind is quite 20:31 different from the conscious mind that's 20:33 what we call the emotional mind see the 20:35 conscious mind can think so therefore 20:38 you have the ability to choose you 20:40 literally choose where you're going now 20:42 the choice may be unconscious but it is 20:44 a choice you have the ability here to 20:46 accept or reject information when we see 20:48 something come on the news about the 20:50 economy the economy is taking a dive say 20:52 maybe for them or you but not for me 20:56 you've got the ability to reject 20:58 information somebody starts to tell you 21:00 a bad story reject it now think you have 21:05 the ability to accept or reject in your 21:07 conscious mind you have the ability to 21:10 originate ideas in your conscious mind 21:13 you can ridge innate any idea you want 21:16 now your subconscious mind has no 21:19 ability to reject it must accept and 21:22 here's something else whatever is post 21:25 in the subconscious mind is going to 21:27 dictate your world it really will and 21:29 your imagination or your subconscious 21:32 mind cannot differentiate between what 21:34 you imagine and what's real so if you 21:36 imagine something happening and you get 21:38 emotionally involved it's actually 21:40 starting to happen you may say well 21:43 that's ridiculous 21:43 well the Wright brothers didn't think so 21:45 and Hillary didn't think so Steve Jobs 21:49 didn't think so think about it Thomas 21:52 Edison didn't think so Alexander Graham 21:55 Bell see we listen to them and think 21:57 well they're different no they're not 21:58 different they're exactly the same as 22:00 you and me 22:03 now look here for a moment I've given 22:06 you the basics about the mind now let's 22:08 look at this today you're hit being in a 22:11 day 22:11 with information in your conscious mind 22:13 from radio from other people from TVs 22:16 from newspapers and you have the ability 22:18 because you have a reasoning factor you 22:20 have the ability to think and you can 22:23 say I don't want that information I'm 22:25 not accepting that and you can cause it 22:26 to go away but you know something we 22:29 don't do that 22:29 not only don't we not do that we don't 22:32 even think about it 22:34 we don't even think why we leave our 22:37 mind wide open and what goes right in 22:40 what we say about the subconscious it 22:41 has no ability to reject it must accept 22:44 why do we do that because we're 22:47 programmed to do it that's why we do it 22:49 that's our paradigm how did that happen 22:51 how did it happen that we go around 22:53 leaving our subconscious mind wide open 22:55 because it's what's going on the 22:57 subconscious that dictates what you do 23:00 well let's look at it for a minute let's 23:03 close the wind here and open it over 23:05 here now I'm hoping you're paying 23:07 attention to this because this could be 23:08 worth millions to you 23:09 it can cause you live in a healthier 23:11 body it can cause you to build your 23:13 business see this is you as an infant 23:16 not today this is you as an infant and 23:20 what's going on whatever is happening 23:22 around you goes right into your 23:23 subconscious mind and it just keeps 23:25 going in over and over and over see your 23:27 program genetically that's why you look 23:29 like your relatives there's a little 23:31 particle of energy from mom and little 23:33 particle of energy from dad came 23:34 together and that was the nucleus of you 23:37 and 280 days later you made your debut 23:40 on the planet but you have all that DNA 23:42 moms and dads going back for generations 23:46 you're genetically programmed many of 23:49 your beliefs have just been passed from 23:51 one generation to the next and many of 23:53 them are absolutely ridiculous well you 23:56 see your self-image is formed when 23:59 you're in your little life when you 24:01 don't even have the ability to think now 24:04 so family is just one idea a multitude 24:07 of ideas are a paradigm look at the 24:11 people were surrounded by any Robert 24:14 Heinlein said in absence of clearly 24:18 defined goals we become strongly 24:21 strangely loyal to performing daily 24:24 trivia 24:25 until ultimately we become enslaved by 24:27 now think about that he had an absence 24:30 of clearly defined goals we become 24:33 strangely loyal to performing daily 24:35 trivia until ultimately we become 24:37 enslaved by now think of the number of 24:39 people that you know that are enslaved 24:41 to daily trivia they talk about nothing 24:43 they never accomplished anything they 24:46 get the same results up their short 24:47 money now they were short a year ago 24:49 they were short a year before that 24:50 they're forever getting a car on payment 24:53 the idea of when writing a cheque is 24:54 just out of their mind why well you see 24:58 that's probably what the people were 25:00 doing that we surrounded by as we were 25:03 little kids and the ideas that just keep 25:06 going in over and over and over again 25:07 form the paradigm a paradigm is nothing 25:11 but a multitude of ideas that are fixed 25:12 in the subconscious mind and so here we 25:15 are as hard as it is to believe 20 30 50 25:18 60 years later living exactly the same 25:21 as we're a program when we were little 25:22 kids do you know that most people on 25:24 welfare are fourth fifth generation 25:26 welfare recipients it's rather strange 25:28 now what do we do well we leave this 25:30 situation and we go to school what a 25:32 school do well let's look at it school 25:35 gave us valuable knowledge however 25:37 school never taught us anything about 25:39 paradigms 25:41 therefore we frequently do not do what 25:46 we already know how to do now think 25:48 superior knowledge think about it 25:53 inferior results what does that do that 25:57 causes confusion and frustration now 25:59 think about this for a moment we've 26:01 gathered great knowledge but we know 26:03 nothing about the paradigm so watch here 26:05 here's the drawing there's the model 26:08 there's all the knowledge we got in 26:10 school we've got it packed in there but 26:12 you know something 26:13 it doesn't equate to the results we're 26:15 getting you're going to find absolutely 26:17 brilliant people getting very bad 26:20 results you're going to find people that 26:22 are brilliant they know exactly what to 26:24 do but they don't do it why it's the 26:27 paradigm that controls the behavior now 26:32 listen I've studied this for over half a 26:34 century 26:34 I have no formal education I had no 26:37 business experience I earn millions of 26:38 hours I'm 81 years old I've got more 26:41 energy than most people that are 21 I 26:43 have a sister in law that says he's 81 26:46 he looks about 60 and he's actually here 26:48 about 30 once he'd add that down pretty 26:51 good because that's just about the way 26:52 it is why it's because I understand how 26:55 to use the mind now look it if you want 26:58 to change your results if you really 27:00 want to change the results there's 27:02 something that you've got to do you've 27:04 got to know how to change the paradigm 27:07 and if you don't change the paradigm I 27:09 don't care what nothing's going to 27:11 happen you'll find people going back to 27:13 school because I think if I got some 27:15 more knowledge no no you're not short on 27:16 knowledge we're short on behavioural 27:19 patterns and that's really what we have 27:22 to do 27:34 check us out at Procter Gallagher 27:36 Institute comm for tips tools and 27:39 resources
