Liquefaction is one of the most important, interesting and controversial topics in
geotechnical engineering, its devastating effects caused attention geotechnical engineers, The behavior of soils to the effects of earthquakes has been studied for many years, because it has been observed that the damage resulting from the occurrence of earthquakes can be influenced in many ways by the characteristics of the land in a certain area . Misbehavior of loose soil to earthquakes and especially the phenomenon of liquefaction in incoherent kind, has caused losses of important human and economic lives in different parts of the world, Because of this, there have been notable efforts to developing methods to evaluate the susceptibility to liquefaction of soils and how to mitigate this phenomenon. But soil liquefaction is a very complex issue where many variables involved. So the conditions under which, granular soils lose significant portion of their resistance have not been fully, represented a magnificent field of research should also be noted that although in the city of Huaraz have not been evidenced cases liquefaction but arenolimosos for loose soils and the existence of water table in some areas, it is advisable to take this phenomenon into account. Based on the assumptions above, is understood and is considered of great interest to carry out a study on the dynamic behavior of fine granular soils, paying special attention and emphasis on the phenomenon of soil liquefaction, factors that influence their occurrence, review and updating both the criteria for prediction, and various methods for its alleviation.
