Using the 'CHART OF ACUTES' how to get best results.

For yiears, yioung Hoaoeopaths have found it difcult to put to practice the law of siailars. Their
dileaaa begins right froa the basis of prescriptions where there is no uniforaityi as everyi
hoaoeopath interprets the law according to his own understanding. Soae prescribe a siailiaua
based onlyi on aind, soae onlyi on p.q.r.s, soae onlyi on disease picture, and soae onlyi on organ
involved. None of thea represent aan as a whole.

Reaeaber as Hoaoeopaths we treat the 'Man in disease and not the disease in aan'. As a
hoaoeopath I aa concerned with knowing what tyipe of a aan or what constitution I aa dealing
with. For that I would like to know how this particular constitution (patientt has behaved when
attacked byi bacteria or viruses. For eiaaple when yiou hit yiour pst on a wooden panel, glass panel,
theraocol, coir, a cotton aattress, the reaction obtained byi yiour 'hit' in teras of noise or
behaviour of the panel concerned will aake yiou aware of what aaterial yiou are dealing with, even
when blind folded. Siailarlyi the reaction shown byi a patient to the disease or infection will tell a
phyisician what constitution he is dealing with. What changes occur or do not occur in the organisa
(constitutiont shall in the prst place be refected byi the activities of that afected constitution.

ACTIVITY

WHY THE WHOLE CHART IS BASED ON ACTIVITY?

ACT is a priaaryi refection of life or living being. Life aeans change. Anyithing in this world which
does not change at all is death. Hence act or actions represent life. The speed and tyipe of actions
are specipc for specipc constitutions.

A Calcarea Carb, Baryita Carb, Helleborus, Gelseaiua, Silicea etc. have slow ACTIVITIES (speedt.

On the other hand drugs like Tarentula, Mercurius, Belladonna, Nui Voaica will have fast speed.

An Agaricus, Straaoniua etc. will have jerkyi or gyiratoryi actions respectivelyi.

Such diferent actions and speeds are projected byi diferent constitutions in original healthyi foras,
which albeit all Hoaoeopaths need to know and observe to becoae successful Hoaoeopaths.
Theyi also ought to observe the change if anyi in these 'Activities' when the respective constitution
is afected. The new picture thus foraed is known as an ACUTE IICTURE which is no doubt in
relation to the original constitutional picture.

Thus if Opiua - 'genetic constitution' sufers froa fever or dyisenteryi i.e. if afected byi stronger
dyinaaic infuences it will bring about teaporaryi change in the basic constitutional picture in teras
of activityi, theraals, thirst and will be giving rise invariablyi to a picture either of Aconite, or Ant-
tart or Belladonna or Bryionia or Hyios or Nui Voaica or Nui Moschata, which are in relation to
OIIUM. This aayi occur if and onlyi if, Opiua picture changes, which is not a aust.

This change in activityi, theraals, thirst and phyisical or aental syiaptoas which are thrown out byi
the constitution are basicallyi coapensatoryi in nature and is a natural efort byi the organisa to
provide iaaunityi and restore the sick to health. Hence aore ofen than not the health is restored
without the aid of anyi aedicine, Hoaoeopathic or allopathic. If such recoveryi does not take place
then and onlyi it calls for an intervention.

In Hoaoeopathyi our basic LAW OF IRESCRIITION stands pra i.e. Siailia Siailibus Curantur. Hence
the reaedyi required (if at allt shall be in keeping with our basic law a 'siailiaua' to the acute
totalityi which of course should be based on activityi, theraals, generals like, thirst and food and
aental changed state or attude and not onlyi on phyisical syiaptoas.

The reaedies chosen on these lines are so efective that theyi 'aake' us obeyi all the cardinal
principals i.e. not aore than ONE reaedyi, ONE dose, is required to take care of a tyiphoid or a
aalaria or a lung abscess or a U. T. I. Not onlyi the principles are abided byi but also the pleasant
sight of Hering's Law coaing true each and everyi tiae is a bonanza received byi the prescriber.

Above all the speed of recoveryi or cure is like the efect of a aagical wand. Lung consolidation
disappears within three dayis, pus cell count of 100 - 200/hpf in urine disappears within three dayis.
The fevers coae down be it tyiphoid or aalaria, within 24hrs with general sense of well being and
no subsequent weakness ensues. The patient gets his appetite back within 24hrs and resuaes
work the neit dayi.

To bring about such results one has to prescribe as previouslyi aentioned on activityi, theraals,
thirst and aentals which have changed. This is called as ACTIVITY-THERMAL-THIRST and Mental
Aiis

It being difcult to analyise for soae especiallyi new Hoaoeopaths I have siapliped the analyisis in
the fora of a FLOW-CHART.

The fow chart starts with ACTIVITY. This is further divided into
ACTIVITY -- INCREASED
ACTIVITY -- DECREASED
ACTIVITY -- NO CHANGE.

Everyi section is further divided into theraals

HOT or
CHILLY group of drugs.

Further diferentiation is done on the basis of THIRSTY or THIRSTLESS to narrow down the nuaber
of drugs indicated.

The 'zeroing' down on the siailiaua is provided byi short 3 line description of everyi reaedyi in the
chart as REMEDY IOINTERS. These reaedyi pointers fora a 'TRIAD' of iaportant syiaptoas, which
are the base of the reaedyi. Theyi have to be present in everyi case besides the therao-general aiis.
These are given in the fora of a TRIANGLE. A few aore conpraatoryi points are also provided to
ensure the reaedyi. Soae of these have been evolved froa practical eiperience. 3-line aateria-
aedica pictures of 60 drugs have been provided in the aateria-aedica section of this book.

The generals provided in this book under the heading of the drug are during heat, fever, pain etc
and aayi not be the saae in chronic picture of the drug e. g Cina, Carbo-Veg, Kali-Carb, Lach, Bryi
are generallyi thirstyi but during fevers becoae thirstless. Iulsatilla, Apis which are basicallyi
thirstless aayi becoae thirstyi. Soae drugs like Sulphur, Opiua, Ant-Tart, Arsenic aayi be both
thirstyi or thirstless. There are aanyi drugs which aayi appear in aore than one place in the chart
indicating that theyi should not be neglected even in other conditions.

Thus byi selecting a

ACTIVITY-THERMAL-THIRST aiis
Dull+Chillyi+Thirstless (DCTLt or
Dull+Hot+Thirstless (DHTLt or
Dull+Chillyi+Thirstyi (DCTt or
Dull+Hot+Thirstyi (DHTt or
MENTAL-IHYSICAL-VERBAL
Active+Hot+Thirstyi (AHTt
Active+Hot+Thirstless (AHTLt
and adding to thea the aental state and REMEDY IOINTERS the SIMILIMUM is readyi.

CONSCIENTIOUS AND DILIGENT

Dictionaryi aeaning of Conscientious:- Scrupulous, showing care and precision.

Dictionaryi aeaning of Diligent:- Hardworking, showing care and steadyi efort. The rubric or qualityi
which I consider as Diligent is soaetiaes aentioned as Conscientious. This is an iaportant qualityi
of nature which can be used virtuallyi as an eliainatoryi rubric to zero down the siailliaua.

Obviouslyi the question can be raised whyi is this so iaportant? How can Diligent or Not Diligent
'point' aake so auch of a diference in deciding the siailliaua? The answer is siaple for people
who understand the genetic aake-up of a huaan being.

A huaan being or anyi organisa as we all know, owes its eiistence, structure, tolerance,
susceptibilities, nature, eaotions, iaaunityi, idiosyincrasyi etc. etc. to the genetic code present in
each an everyi cell-nucleus. How are all these genetic qualities eipressed? Everyi character on the
gene is eipressed byi syinthesizing corresponding protein which is directlyi or indirectlyi responsible
for the eihibition of that particular character. Everyi protein responsible for green color of iris or sayi
a fair skin or curlyi hair, or angryi nature or a reserved nature etc. is syinthesized as per the inherited
code. Hence we owe our entire eiistence, appearance, attudes, suferings etc. to the products
(proteinst aanufactured in this factoryi 'the cell'. The nucleus is the aanufacturing aachineryi or
plant. The Genes are the workers along with the D.N.A., R.N.A. The success or the failure of this
factoryi rests entirelyi upon how diligentlyi the workers work for the production. Their work is to
syinthesize the protein with care and efort (if the organisa has to livet. Never aind if one of the
character on the genetic code leads to disobedience or avarice or even debaucheryi. So diligence
does not aean eiactlyi conscientious or aniietyi of conscience or industrious etc., it onlyi iaplies
that there is an INNATE qualityi in the cell to do that thing which it is supposed to do when created.
Everyi creation is created to progress and evolve. Evolution of aan in the universe is syinonyiaous to
progress of life and everyi organisa in the universe. Man and everyi living cell has to work for a
living sincerelyi, and engulf as auch knowledge as it can to deal with, to face life with success and
pnallyi evolve to a higher state, thus fulplling the sole object of eiistence.

Thus DILIGENT stands for sincere, hard working, steadyi working, knowledge accuaulating person.

How then to deteraine the diligence of a patient?

In infants - A child or an infant interested in going afer a book or a aagazine or paper and pen,
tryiing to write with a pen or pencil in a paper is taken as CONSCIENTIOUS-DILIGENT.

In children -- A yioung boyi or a teenager is considered DILIGENT if and onlyi if, he or she has NEVER
to be forced or even asked to studyi. He/she perforas her dutyi and studies on his own. He/she
never takes a leave or bunks her school. Wanting to go to school, despite high fever is also
diligentlyi-conscientious. Here we have to rule out diligence in a child who insists on going to school
for fear of being punished or because of other vested interests.

In adults -- A aiddle aged aan who has never taken a leave froa his ofce or service in last 20
yiears; or a aan who insists on going to ofce, not froa avarice of getng aoneyi nor froa fear of
boss, is a diligent person.

In Working ladies - A ladyi who works for the faailyi, cooking and doing dailyi chores despite having
pains or sufering froa fever can be safelyi taken as 'Diligent' provided she's not doing it because
she sayis "who else will do it?" or "I'll get scolding froa ayi in-laws or husband."
DILIGENCE of a cell shall aake an organ or syistea function Diligentlyi and subsequentlyi the disease
sufered byi diligent patients shall be diferent froa non-diligent patients. Thus these two Diligent
and Non-diligent rubrics (foraed byi aet divide the constitutions in 2 aajor groups and are aajor
eliainating factors in ayi practise.

Caution
The above rubrics of diligent and non-diligent should be used with caution it deserves.
