1. Place the machine in service position 1.

ADVERTÊNCIA
Para evitar queimaduras graves, NÃO tente a ação seguinte com o motor QUENTE. Antes de continuar,
deixe que o motor, silenciador e tubo de escape esfriem.

2. Disconnect the two wires to the inlet air pressure sensor.

3. Remove the inlet air cleaner together with the bracket.

4. Remove the two allen bolts holding the crank case ventilation housing to the valve cover. Pull out the housing from
the valve cover.

2. Inlet valves: 2, 4, 6, 8

AVISO
É rigorosamente proibido ajustar válvulas com o motor funcionando; as válvulas podem atingir o pistão,
causando danificação grave.

Valve adjustment shall be done on cold engine.

6. Turn the engine until the valves on cylinder 1 is "overlapping" (rocking). It should not be possible to turn the push
rods for this cylinder at this time. Use the rotation tool, 885530, attached to the lower belt pulley, at the front end
of the engine.

7. Adjust the valves marked black in illustration.

Inlet valve: 0.3 mm (0.0118 in)
Exhaust valve: 0.5 mm (0.0197 in)
NOTA:
In case where the cylinder head gasket has been replaced, increase Valve clearance by 0.1 mm (0.0040 in) !

8. Tighten the lock nut 20 Nm (15 lbf ft). Check the valve play again with the feeler gauge.

9. Turn the engine again one turn until the valves on cylinder 4 is "overlapping" (rocking). Adjust the valve play on
valves marked black in illustration.
Inlet valve: 0,3 mm (0.0118 in)
Exhaust valve: 0,5 mm (0.0197 in)

10. Refit the valve cover gasket, change if necessary.

11. Fit the engine valve cover.

NOTA:
Make sure that the rubber seals for the fuel pipes end up at the right position when assembling. Tightening torque:
11Nm (8.1 lbf ft)
