JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Title Reservoir Engineer or Senior Reservoir Engineer

Department Asset Management / Development

Reporting To Subsurface Team Lead or Asset Manager

Location UKBU

Role Overview Provide reservoir engineering interpretation, guidance and support to the UK
Asset Teams. Responsible for reserves estimation and production profiles for
input into the UKBU reporting system.

Key Accountabilities
Lead the development, maintenance and history matching of fit-for-purpose dynamic

reservoir simulation models. Utilise classical reservoir engineering techniques such as
material balance and decline curves as appropriate to support the model.
To work as an integrated team member with geoscientists, drilling and production

engineers to monitor field performance and optimise production.
Provide input into Field Development Plans (e.g. predicted production profiles, well count,

data aquistion plans etc.).
Assess opportunities for future infill wells, workovers and near-field exploration targets

and prepare well recommendations and AFEs as appropriate.
Attendance at relevant external reviews (e.g. OGA) and other ad-hoc technical meetings,

representing Premier as operator.
Develop production and reserve booking profiles for input in to business unit report, CAD

and year end reserves..

Major Challenges
The ability to characterise and succinctly articulate the subsurface issues and recommendations
to other relevant disciplines and Management is required.
Ability to work independently, but also work effectively within a multi-discipline team
environment to develop clear, business-focussed recommendations and appropriate work-
programmes.
Leadership – In some instances this position will be expected to take a lead role in the
subsurface evaluation.

Managing the production forecasts and reserves for the asset.

Qualifications
A degree in Engineering or a related discipline. Preferably a post-graduate qualification in Petroleum
Engineering or related discipline.

Candidate Profile (include Skills & Experience, Attributes, Behaviours)


Skills / experience:
Extensive experience as a Reservoir Engineer with an E&P Operator. Prefarably with experience on
a wide range of operated development and production projects (oil and gas reservoirs).
Substantial experience in dynamic modelling, history matching and sensitivity analysis using Eclipse
(or similar software).
Track record of proactively proposing and implementing successful reservoir management
recommendations.

Knowledge (e.g. systems, software, procedures, regulations):


Fully competent reservoir engineer with classical reservoir engineering skills.
Up to date working knowledge of technical software including Eclipse, Petrel, analytical tools, and
Microsoft Office.
Familiarity with hydrocarbon resources estimation and reporting.
Systematic approach to uncertainty management and the ability to work with limited data.
Ability to work within the framework provided by company investment guidelines; appraise, concept,
select, define and execute.
Good awareness of latest industry innovations.
Good understanding of drilling and production operations.
