Double negative multi and div = positive

Single negative and positive multi and div = negative

You can only add the same letters.

You can mulitple any number and letter
e.g. 6ab * 2ac = 12a2bc
e.g. -2a * 3ab * 2b = -6a2b * 2b = -12a2b2
Work from left to right.

Division -

15x2y4 / 5xy6 = 3x / y2
- whichever has the most of the letter keeps the exponent - but
subtract how many on the top.

10x2 / 5x = 2x + 3y * 2y = 2x + 6y2

Parenthesis always come first!

Exponents = always add, no multiply. For division, the same

backwards.

For division - 6a3 / 3a2 = 2a.
