Goal
For
the
YFC
members
to
see
the
beauty
and
blessing
of
living
a
missionary
life.
For
them
to
grow
in
anticipation
of
the
call
of
a
missionary
life.
INTRODUCTION
Every
day
is
a
calling
to
be
a
missionary.
To
be
in
a
place
where
love
is
scant
and
be
the
reason
for
its
abundance.
To
be
out
of
your
comfort
zone
and
live
out
the
desire
of
your
heart
hence
the
desire
of
God
for
you.
As
a
missionary
you
are
assigned
to
places
where
your
blessings
are
foreseen
to
be
their
light.
You
can
be
from
the
south
and
be
assigned
all
the
way
to
the
north
or
from
east
to
west
and
some
are
even
given
the
privilege
to
cross
cultures
only
to
show
the
glory
of
our
God.
Whoever
you
are
right
now,
whatever
you
do
in
life.
Time
will
come
that
you’ll
start
hearing
that
call,
a
call
to
do
better,
a
call
to
live
out
God’s
desire
and
out
live
your
own.
WHY
RESPOND
TO
THIS
CALL?
We
are
Young
–
vigilant
and
single
minded
for
God
(“The
group
of
believers
was
one
in
mind
and
heart”
–
Acts
4:32)
We
are
Conquered
–
the
moment
we
committed
ourselves
to
God,
our
lives
had
been
conquered
by
Christ
(“But
when
the
Holy
Spirit
comes
upon
you,
you
will
be
filled
with
power,
and
you
will
be
witnesses
for
me…
to
the
ends
of
the
earth.”
–
Acts
1:8)
We
are
Empowered
–
Christ
was
the
first-‐ever
Missionary
and
before
He
went
back
to
the
Father,
He
gave
us
power
to
walk
in
his
steps.
(“Go
then
to
all
peoples
everywhere
and
make
them
my
disciples…
and
I
will
be
with
you,
to
the
end
of
age.”
–
Matthew
28:19-‐20)
God
is
counting
on
us.
Do
not
let
Him
down.
We
are
“for
Christ”.
The
revolution
should
start
with
us!
SHARERS:
1.
Someone

has
shared
their
faith
to
their
family,
who
may
have
undergone
struggles
in
convincing
their

while
in
a
secular
setting
and
has
drawn
others
to
Christ
through
their
responses
to
situations,
their
relationships,
their
dealings,
showing
that
we
do
not
need
to
parade
our

Christ
in
order
to
be
missionaries
but
are

of
the
faith
s/he

that
God
is
using
our
youngest
brothers
and
sisters
to
bring
back
the
world
to
Christ.
4.
Speaker:
to
share
about
experiences
of
going
on
mission
to
a
different
country
to
excite
them
about
the
possibilities.
Touch
on
the
following
points
as
part
of
the
sharing:
Important
Attitudes
to
take
as
missionaries:
A. Travel
Light.
• leave
your
excess
baggage
behind
-‐
any
emotional,
mental,
spiritual…
• if
you
empty
yourself
of
all
concerns,
of
all
pain,
fears,
doubts
and
worry,
GOD
can
maximize
you
to
the
fullest
B. Expect
the
Unexpected.
• anything
can
happen
in
a
mission
area
• be
ready
for
last
minute
changes
or
if
things
don’t
go
as
planned
• in
the
end,
where
your
capacity
ends,
the
grace
of
God
begins
C. Be
Mission
Ready.
• go
beyond
what
is
expected
of
you.
• be
open
to
do
things
that
you’re
not
used
to
doing
especially
if
it
is
required
in
the
mission
(e.g.
dancing,
singing,
hosting,
etc)
• make
yourselves
available
always
for
whatever
service
is
needed
D. Be
Humble
• it
is
the
Lord
who
called
you
and
sent
you
for
mission
• seek
to
glorify
God,
not
our
own
glorification
E. Be
Open
to
Learn
• be
open
to
learn
new
things
in
your
mission,
God
will
speak,
so
always
listen
• oftentimes
being
a
missionary
can
sometimes
mislead
you
to
be
pressured
that
you
should
know
everything
–
you
don’t!
• believe
that
there
are
more
we
can
take
back
with
us
–
the
experience,
the
relationships
built,
the
inspiration…
F. Be
a
Loving
Presence.
• NEVER
COMPLAIN!
• we
are
not
going
to
an
area
to
be
served,
but
rather
to
serve
• do
not
always
expect
to
be
comfortable
-‐
but
be
ready
to
go
out
of
your
comfort
zone
• reach
out
to
as
many
brothers
and
sisters
even
to
your
co-‐missionaries
• accept
whatever
will
be
offered
-‐
accommodations,
food…
ONE
GOD
–
OUR
PERSONAL
CALLING
We
have
our
own
vision.
Our
own
specific
instruction
in
the
bigger
work!
30
years
have
passed
since
the
vision
of
our
elders
for
our
community.
Statistics
show
that
the
number
of
people
who
believe
in
God
is
shrinking
and
we
wonder
what
happened
to
all
the
30
years
of
work
that
we
have
done.
This
is
the
reality.
What
we
have
done
for
the
past
30
years
is
get
people
who
already
know
Christ
into
our
community.
We
get
people
from
churches
to
join
us.
We
get
people
from
other
communities
join
us.
We
can
only
count
the
number
of
times
we
have
actually
witnessed
to
non-‐believers.
Other
communities
do
the
same.
We
have
not
grown
because
we
simply
moved
around!
Even
other
Christian
communities
try
to
convert
Catholics
to
born-‐again
movements
and
vice
versa
and
when
we
do…what
do
we
say?
Praise
God
we
were
able
to
convert
them!
Born
agains
will
say…Praise
God!
We
were
able
to
save
them!
We
are
called
to
spread
the
Gospel
not
save
people.
Salvation
is
but
for
the
Lord
to
give
and
it
is
for
all.
We
have
been
promoting
our
communities
that
we
failed
to
promote
Christ.
We
have
to
go
beyond!
Go
to
the
core!
Go
to
the
basic!
We
have
been
taught
for
30
years.
We
have
been
equipped.
We
have
been
planted
and
strategically
located.
But
today
TRAINING
DAY
IS
OVER!
The
real
work
is
about
to
begin
and
we
have
all
been
enlisted!
Be
ready
to
be
sent
brothers
and
sisters.
Be
ready
to
be
used
for
the
greater
glory
of
the
Lord.
Be
ready
to
conquer
places
that
used
to
be
inaccessible
Be
ready
to
go
to
areas
that
have
not
heard
of
the
Gospel,
Be
ready
to
go
in
to
countries
where
the
preaching
of
the
Word
has
been
suppressed
for
many
years.
Today
the
real
battle
begins..
Command
and
Conquer!
John
21:1-‐17.
(Story:
Lake
of
Galilee;
Peter,
Thomas,
Nathaniel,
James
and
John
were
fishing.
With
Jesus’
appearing
to
them
after
His
resurrection
with
instructions
to
throw
net
to
the
other
side,
caught
153
fish.
Jesus
asks
Peter
if
he
loves
Him
3
times
and
gave
instructions
to
Peter
to
take
care
of
His
sheep…)*
(speaker
can
then
relate
the
story
in
his
own
words.
Then
direct
the
question
of
Jesus
to
Peter
“do
you
love
me?”
to
the
YFCs.
We
will
ask
the
YFC
to
answer.
Then
close
session
by
challenging
them
to
“then
feed
my
sheep.”)
