In Permendikbud Number 24 of 2016 concerning Basic Competencies and


Core Competencies, one of the materials related to literature in Indonesian subjects
that must be mastered by students of class VII is basic competence 3.14 Reviewing
the structure and language of folk poetry (rhymes, poetry, and poetry forms local
people) and 4.14 Expressing ideas, feelings, messages in the form of folk poetry with
regard to structure, rhyme, and use of language.
The formulation of the problem in this study is 1) Significantly influence the
Index Card Match learning model on the ability to study the structure and language of
folk poetry (pantun, gurindam, and poetry) on students of class VII of SMP Negeri 3
Tasikmalaya Academic Year 2018/2019? 2) Significantly influence the Index Card
Match learning model on the ability to express ideas, feelings, messages in the form
of folk poetry (pantun, gurindam, and poetry) for students of class VII of SMP Negeri
3 Tasikmalaya Academic Year 2018/2019?
This study aims to determine the effect of the Index Card Match learning
model on the ability to study structure and language and express ideas, feelings,
messages in the form of pantun, gurindam, and poetry on students of class VII
semester 2 of SMP Negeri 3 Tasikmalaya in 2018/2019 school year. The research
method that I use is real experiment.
The population in this study were all students of class VII SMP 3 Tasikmalaya
and the samples were class VII J as the experimental class and class VII I as the
control class. Data collection techniques that I use are observation techniques and test
techniques.
Based on the results of statistical data processing, the average value of the
final test experimental class in KD 3.14 reached an average value of 90.84 and basic
competence 4.14 reached a value of 83.96. At the data processing stage through the
normality test it is known that the data obtained is not normally distributed, so the
data processing is continued by using Wilcoxon test. The results obtained show that
the Whitung value = 0 < Wdaftar = 126.25.
Thus, the hypothesis in this study can be accepted. That is, the Index Card
Match learning model significantly influences learning in studying structure,
language, and expressing ideas, feelings, messages in the form of folk poetry.
