I will
cherish every day.

Jenny Engle
Adrian, Michigan

Jenny’s Story:
I was only 33 years old when
I was diagnosed with breast cancer.
The moment my doctor told me I had cancer, my whole world changed—
and I was afraid. I had to make so many decisions, but most importantly
I wanted the best care possible. I chose to receive treatment through
ProMedica Cancer Institute.

As a mother of four active children, I’m thankful every day that eight years
later, I am still cancer-free.

ProMedica Cancer Institute

You will find your greatest ally in your fight against cancer to be ProMedica Cancer Institute. Every hour of
every day, together with the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Center, we’re committed to uncovering new
possibilities for early detection and shorter, safer treatments.

Here, you’ll find leading-edge advancements such as a low-invasive, high-precision TomoTherapy® unit,
stereotactic radio surgery, and high-dose rate radiation therapy (HDR). Throughout the region, ProMedica
offers digital mammography for more accurate screenings, and the first facility in Ohio to have the Varian
Trilogy linear accelerator.

Digital Mammography
What is a digital mammogram? Unlike film-based mammography, digital mammography
uses computers and specially designed digital detectors to produce an image that can be displayed
electronically in a matter of seconds. Similar to editing a digital photo, the radiologist can adjust
and enhance the image to detect any abnormalities in the breast, providing patients with more
comprehensive evaluations.

Why should I have a digital mammogram at ProMedica? Digital mammography at ProMedica

has significantly enhanced the quality and accuracy of breast cancer screenings for women across
northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan. Digital mammography offers more accurate results for most
women, including those under 50 and women with dense breast tissue. In addition, digital technology
offers reduced exam times, less uncomfortable exams and reduced need for re-tests.

Together, we will discover every opportunity for a cancer-free tomorrow.
