RESURFACE/REHABILITATE

MO1575177: MD 187 from Johnson Avenue to I-495


WHAT: Patch, grind, and overlay existing roadway with asphalt.

WHY: The existing pavement condition is deteriorated and is in need of repair.

WHEN: Candidate for Resurfacing Project for FY20

COST:Under $3 Million (Engineer’s Construction Estimate)

MO1845177: I-270 Ramp 2 (Ramp from MD 355 NB to IS 270 WB) to Mile Marker 6.0
(Ramp from MD 28 WB to IS 270 NB)
WHAT: Patch, grind, and overlay existing roadway with asphalt.

WHY: The existing pavement condition is deteriorated and is in need of repair.

WHEN: Candidate for Resurfacing Project for FY22

COST:Over $5 Million (Engineer’s Construction Estimate)

GEOMETRIC IMPROVEMENTS
MO9815187: MD 190 at Braeburn Parkway_

WHAT: MD 190 - Reduction of the speed limit from 45 to 35 MPH from I 495 (Capital
Beltway) to Brookside Drive. This will reduce vehicle speeds and provide
a more consistent speed limit throughout the corridor.
Braeburn Parkway - Installation of a traffic signal for exclusive left turns onto
Braeburn Pkwy. MDOT SHA has determined that adding a mainline signal
here is the safest option for left-turning vehicles.
Pyle Road - Installation of pedestrian signals on eastbound and westbound
MD 190 at the existing marked pedestrian crossing. This improvement will
provide a safer road crossing for pedestrians. Installation of concrete curb to
channelize left turn movement from MD 190 onto Braeburn Parkway. Installation
of pedestrian signals on eastbound and westbound MD 190 at the existing marked
pedestrian crossing.

WHY: Improve traffic operations for motorists and enhancing pedestrian safety within
this segment of roadway.
