of Paramashiva. She is the mystic Yogini, worshiped by the sage Durvasa. She annihilates miseries.
She is Hamsini, the supreme one in the company of great sages. She is the bestower of true bliss

Absolute Brahman, the fullness of existence, consciousness and bliss. Indra and other celestials attend
on Her. She is adored by Brahma and others who perform the Pancakritya, the five cosmic acts. Her
feet are adroit at removing grief. She endowed the gift of speech in Muka and made him a Kavi. Her
victorious feet are like red lotus. She is the embodiment of the three-word mantra Tat-Tvam-Asi
imparted by Guruguha. Her form is of eight Shaktis, Anangakusuma and the rest. She is the color of
dawn, Aruna, and is enshrined in the Samkshobhana Chakra. She is the consort of Shankara, who is
the Lord of innumerable universes. She is of the nature of eternal and hidden Ashtavarga, the eight

in the Srichakra having the bindu or the dot in the middle. The Avarana is Trikona and the Yogini is Ati

and Sarvani, her hair surpasses the dark tint of the honeybees. Mother of Lord Guruguha who is
immaculate and slayed the egotistical demon Bhandasura. Delights Kamakarshini, personification of
unqualified consciousness and manifests in the principles of the world.

The Kamalamba Navavarna Kritis by Shri Muthuswami Dikshitar are a set of compositions in praise
of the Goddess Kamalamba of Tiruvarur, Tanjore district of Tamil Nadu in South India. The kritis have

Meaning
Lord Ganapati, the Great protect me.Father of kAma (the father of Cupid), prostrated by Brahma Indra, one
who is residing on the banks of the (Kamalalaya) lotus pond in Tiruvarur, one whose feet and hands are as
tender and soft as a creeper, brother of Lord Subrahmanya and son of Goddess Parvati. You are attracting like
gold, king of all obstacles, your feet are like lotus flower, you are clad in white colored robes, wearing the
crescent moon on the forehead, worshiped by human beings and all others one having a big belly, black lily
flower, having his own tusk which is broken, having a rope and ankusam and the sweet modhakam or
kozhukkattai”, the boat that enables one to cross the ocean of life, the form of primordial nature an embodiment
of bliss essence, one who is equivalent to thousand suns, one who is worshipped by poets, one who rides a
