MINUTES OF THE 3rd ENGLISH LANGUAGE PANEL MEETING

1.0 Opening speech by the Head of EL Panel

1.1 Pn Maziana thanked and welcomed all EL teachers attending the Third
English Language Panel meeting.
1.2 Pn Maziana mentioned that the meeting is discussing about the students’
problems in PKSR 4 and how to overcome the weaknesses as in the same
time the strengths to be improved.

2.0 Confirmation of the 2nd English Language Panel meeting minutes

2.1 The minutes was confirmed as proposed by Pn Zahariah and seconded by Pn
Amiza without any amendments.

4.0 PKSR 4 Analyses

The results of PKSR 4 as follows:

From the results, we have discussed some ways how to overcome the weaknesses.
i) Grammar drilling
ii) Sample answers for Paper 2
iii) Speaking activities in the classroom such as dialogue and conversation for
pupils to practice and perform in front of the classroom to build their
confidence
iv) More exercises on vocabulary
v) Simple sentence constructions

5.0 PLBS/PBS/LBI
5.1 Pn Zahariah informed that Year 1 pupils have done the Saringan 2 LBI
Instruments as follows:
a) Saringan Membaca (29th September – 18th October 2013)
b) Saringan Menulis (20th October – 1st November 2013)
c) Pengisian Data (4th November – 15th November 2013)
As a result, there were 24 passes and 4 failures or also known as remedial
pupils. They are:

5.3 Pn Zahariah informed in Saringan 2 LBI, the number of remedial pupils decreased
from 7 pupils to 4 pupils. She also mentioned that she had keyed-in the data in the
portal.
5.4 Pn Zahariah mentioned that she has done the PBS for Year 1 and Year 3 classes.
Pn Maziana also has done PBS Band for Year 2 classes.

6.0 Other Matters

6.1 Pn Maziana claimed that she bought a whiteboard to be put in the SAL Room.
6.2 She also claimed to update the English Language Panel files.
6.3 Pn Maziana informed that we have received books for MBMMBI programme.
6.4 She also informed that she is going to attend a LINUS 2.0 for Year 2 (LBI) course on
the 18th – 21st November 2013.

7.0 Closure
The Panel Head thanked to all EL teachers on their hardly work. He also reminded the
teacher that they should play their role as a teacher in teaching and learning because
that is their core business.

The meeting was adjourned at 9.45 am.
