"I am not looking for devotees.

I am looking for somebody who feels the power of what I am

pointing and wants to look, to prove it inside themselves. I don’t want to tell people, ‘This is bad,
this is good, stop doing.' I prefer to show people a much easier way.

Just be.

What is the lotus flower doing? Nothing. It is just responding to the sunlight, but this opening is
happening. What if it is really as simple as this?

I want you to know the thing that cannot be known through study. I love it that it is so
magnificent. This urge must not fade in you until you reach the goal. Now you are using your
powers of discernment rightly, your wisdom is coming back. Everything is happening but
nothing feels greater than here...”

EGO IN ANY FORM IS A MERE APPEARANCE

D: What is the relation between the pure consciousness realized by the jnani and the ‘I-am’-ness
which is accepted as the primary datum of experience?

M: The undifferentiated consciousness of Pure Being is the heart or hridayam which you really
are, as signified by the word itself (hrit + ayam = heart am I). From the heart arises the ‘I-am’-
ness as the primary datum of one’s experience. By itself it is suddha-sattva in character. It is in
this suddha-sattva svarupa (that is, uncontaminated by rajas and tamas), that the ‘I’ appears to
subsist in the jnani........

D: In the jnani the ego subsists in the sattvic form and therefore it appears as something real. Am
I right?

M: No. The existence of the ego in any form, either in the jnani or ajnani is itself an appearance.
But to the ajnani who is deluded into thinking that the waking state and the world are real, the
ego also appears to be real. Since he sees the jnani act like other individuals, he feels constrained
to posit some notion of individuality with reference to the jnani also.

- Maharshi’s Gospel

Pondering this for a few days:

We are only spirit, so our ancestors are really ourselves in spirit? A continuum of being, no birth, no
death... we’ve always existed in time and space, it’s as if I’m saying hello to my ancient self who has
always been here in this space.

Go to the source direct and do not depend on borrowed resources.

That source is the Heart, the Self. The Self does not come from anywhere else and enter the body
through the crown of the head. It is as it is, ever sparkling, ever steady, unmoving and
unchanging. The individual confines himself to the limits of the changeful body or of the mind
which derives its existence from the unchanging Self.

All that is necessary is to give up this mistaken identity, and that done, the ever-shining Self will
be seen to be the single non-dual reality.

Sri Mooji
This is a secret few recognise.

A plant is not thinking: “Tomorrow I will put a new leaf to the north and then next week when it
rains I will grow a metre taller”. Its existence is just unfolding out of itself spontaneously,
naturally, unplanned.

Similarly, your true life unfolds in the same way but you are unaware of it because you allow
your mind to imagine fanciful ways of being and then pursue your projections. Like this, you
began thinking and strategising your existence rather than simply experiencing your natural
being.

We cannot breathe tomorrows breath today. Therefore, knowing this, leave your existence to
existence and start enjoying your cosmic play. Best of all, don't try to be anything at all. This is a
secret few recognise.

Q: If I am beyond the mind, how can I change myself?

M: Where is the need of changing anything? The mind is changing anyhow, all the time. Look at
your mind, dispassionately; this is enough to calm it! When it is quiet, you can go beyond it. Do
not keep it busy all the time. Stop it - and just be. If you give it a rest, it will settle down and
recover it’s purity and strength. Constant thinking makes it decay.

Q: If my true being is always with me, how is it that I am ignorant of it?

M: Because it is very subtle and your mind is gross. Full of gross thoughts and feelings. Calm
and clarify your mind and you will know yourself as you are.

Q: Do I need the mind to know myself?

M: You are beyond the mind, but you know with your mind. It is obvious that the extent, depth
and character of knowledge depend on what instrument you use. Improve your instrument and
your knowledge will improve.

Q: To know perfectly do I need a perfect mind?

M: A quiet mind is all you need. All else will happen rightly, once your mind is quiet. As the sun
on rising makes the world active, so does self-awareness affect changes in the mind. In the light
of calm and steady self-awareness inner energies wake up and work miracles without any effort
on your part!!!!

Q: You mean to say that the greatest work is done by not working?

M: Exactly. Do understand that you are destined for enlightenment. Co-operate with your
destiny, don’t go against it, don’t thwart it. Allow it to fulfill itself. All you have to do is to give
attention to the obstacles created by the foolish mind.

The mind is a barrier. The mind is simply a bundle of thoughts. Therefore wherever you are
observe the mind, observe the thoughts. Do not react to them just observe them. Remove the
barrier between yourself and the thoughts so the thoughts can merge in the Self and you will be
free.
