Written case study for a patient presenting with a condition covered in this module.

The case study

will include a critical analysis of patient management with review and support from current literature
(70% = 1120 words).

Submission: Monday 4th February 2019

Please consider the following content:

 Introduction - explain what the case review is going to achieve, how it will achieve it, and why
case based learning is important/of benefit re: professional development.
 Provide context - i.e. summarise PC/HPC/PMX/DHX/SH/FH etc. However, please remember that
this assessment is a critical analysis of patient management and NOT just a description of what
you did.
 Discuss diagnosis etc. and the rational for your management plan.
 This should include supporting literature/evidence that demonstrates why this is the most
appropriate course of action or, if not, why it was advised in this situation.
 What are the implications of treatment/management (risk vs benefit).
 Are there any other treatment/management options available? If so, why was this not
recommended at this time? If not, what are the implications re: prognosis etc?
 Discuss concordance issues if appropriate (this may include more detailed analysis of
social/family considerations).
 Conclusion.
