Listening: By the end of this level, students will be able to listen to people talk about people they admire and fill in a chart; predict what people say next; listen to
conversations about things people have done and choose the best responses; listen to a conversation about things people have done and choose the best responses; listen to a
conversation about travel and identify information, then answer questions about details; listen to people talk about demands their parents make on them; listen to people talk
about they used to do; listen to conversations and number pictures in order, then match each picture with the best response; listen to three people respond to different
invitations and fill in a chart; listen to four people talk about their time management problems and identify how they solved them.
Reading: By the end of this level, students will be able to read online student profiles; read travel blogs; read an article about world records; read a blog about family meals,
read an article about popular snacks from around the world, read an article about multitasking.
Writing: By the end of this level, students will be able to write a personal profile, useful expressions for biographical writing; write a blog entry about an exciting experience,
use adverbs like fortunately, unfortunately, and amazingly to show your attitude or feeling; write a paragraph about an interesting place in your country, adding information;
write a blog about family memory, time markers to show the past and present; write an article about a popular snack from your country, give examples with like, for example,
and such as, write advice about time management, link idea using as long as, provided that, and unless.
Speaking: By the end of this level, students will be able talk about people´s behavior using adverbs; talk about experiences and secret dreams using the present perfect; talk
about the best, worst, and most beautiful things in your city and country, talk about family life using let, make, help, have, get, want, ask, and tell, talk about eating habits
using containers and quantities, talk about different ways to cook food; talk about food using too, too much, many, and enough; talk about future plans and schedules using
will, be going to, present continuous, and simple present.

Nota importante: Para aprobar este curso, usted deberá acumular un mínimo de 28 sobre 40 puntos en las actividades de las plataformas (TOUCHSTONE y UTI) que
consta de speaking, listening, writing y reading. Además usted tendrá en este nivel dos exámenes presenciales sobre 30 puntos cada uno donde
deberá obtener como mínimo 21 puntos sobre 30 en cada examen. Por lo tanto usted deberá obtener un total mínimo de 70 puntos sobre 100 es
decir: (28 plataformas + 21 primer examen + 21 segundo examen = 70 puntos) para ser promovido, caso contrario deberá presentarse al examen
supletorio cuya ponderación equivale a 60 sobre 100 puntos.
POLÍTICAS DEL CURSO:
Todo trabajo, tarea, y prueba debe ser realizada únicamente por el alumno de la UTI que esté matriculado en esta clase.
Se recomienda que realice las actividades tal como se las propone en este syllabus para sacar mayor provecho de su curso.
Los trabajos realizados en el “Touchstone Course”, “Workbook”, y“Video Activity” serán aceptados hasta la finalización de cada unidad de acuerdo con las fechas
establecidas de acuerdo a las fechas establecidas tal como se detalla en el cronograma de actividades. Pasada la fecha límite señalada la plataforma se cerrará y no
será posible subir su calificación debido a que la duración de este curso no permite ampliar estos plazos.
