Brothers,
Grand Knight The months keep flying by here, it is already February 2019, can you believe it! January
S/K John E. Terlecki is usually a month of recovery from the Christmas season. This Year has not been any different than
previous years. We took down all of our displays here at the Council hall, Main Street in the village and the
Deputy Grand Knight
church’s we support. A big thank you goes out to our K of C volunteers who put in the time and labor to
S/K Joe Sheldrick
make for a wonderful Christmas season for the community which we serve.
Chancellor As you know the March for Life was held in Washington DC on the mall once again this year and by all
S/K James Kaan accounts was a great success with over 300,000 participants. The Patchogue council was represented by
PGK, FDD, FCOB/DDs, Current Advocate 725 SK Michael Boehm and PGK and Current DD of the 3rd district,
Financial Secretary SK William Fontaine.
S/K Robert Elliott PGK FDD
Jan. 21st. we held a dinner and a movie at the council hall and what a success it was. The food was
Warden great and so was the movie (Unbroken) that was shown. We had a full house, with lots of good
Keith Mandart conversation and fun for all.

Treasurer The news is in- the final numbers for this year’s C&B book sales and Patchogue is in the top tier again,
S/K Denis Boyce 2nd place in fact. Thanks to the hard work of our charity drive Chairmen PGK John A. Praino and Brother
Rich Acosta. Good job!
Recorder
In the month of January I along with Brother Joe Brandi had the opportunity to visit with Brother Phil
S/K Kevin Drawbridge Sgro. We found Phil doing well and in good spirits at the Gazzola Drive Rehab facility. We had a good visit
and he expressed his desire to get well and return to the council as soon as possible.
Advocate
S/K Michael Boehm Saturday, 1/26/19, we held our annual Basketball Free throw at the St. Francis di Sales gymnasium. We
PGK FDD FCOB had a nice turn out of boys and girls and thanks to our brother knights plenty of supervision. It’s always a
fun morning.

District Deputy Report
Brothers,
Congratulations to all our new brothers that took their Admission and Formation
Degrees on January 17th at St. Jude Council in Rocky Point. My sincere thank
you to both Degree teams on a job well done as always. And mostly thank Gene
Johann and St. Jude Council for coordinating, cooking and setting up and
cleaning up such a very well attended Degree. 3rd Degree will be February 22nd and 1st Degree will be at Queen if all
Hearts (date to be announced).

I had the privilege of marching in the Right to Life March in Washington on January 18th. A very long day but a great
experience and would highly suggest that you make every attempt to get down there next year. I know that I am
going. You know that it will take the Federal Government to right the terrible wrong that was made in New York on
January 22nd.

On January 26th the District Free Throw was held. Congratulations to all our District winners and will see you March
9th at St. Cyril and Methodius in Deer Park.

Thank you for being a Knight and God Bless,

Bill

March For Life:

On Friday January 18th PGK’s Mike Boehm FDD and Bill Fontaine DD attended the 46th Annual March for
Life in Washington DC. It was a very long day, we left Patchogue to catch the bus at Our Lady of the
Snow in Blue Point at 4:15 am and returned home at 1:15 am. the next morning. Special thanks to
Loren Christie and the OLS Pro-Life Ministry for planning
this trip. Pictured are the members of the Ministry along
with Bill Fontaine and myself. It was a very rewarding day
Marching and talking to so many pro-life people from all
over the country. Our Supreme Knight Carl Anderson was
on hand and was one of the featured speakers, along with our Vice President
Mike Pence and his wife Karen. The most notable thing was the large amounts
of young people who were there and participating in the March. It is very
encouraging to see that the youth of today is concerned about the unborn. I
highly recommend that if you are able that you attend this event next year. I
know I am.

On Saturday January 26th the Patchogue

Knights of Columbus held their annual
Free Throw Challenge at Holy Angels
Gym. Special thanks to GK John Terlecki
and the Free Throw Chairman Bill
Fontaine PGK, DD for all their hard work
on making this happen and to Fr. Steve
from St. Francis for the use of the Gym,
and to Brother Pat Molluso for picking up
the key.
We also want to thank all the Brothers
who came down to help that morning and
made this event such a success. We hope
to see you again next Year.
