ANNUAL ICT ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT OF SAN GUILLERMO NHS

San Guillermo Morong, Rizal

In this 2013 Accomplishment Report, San Guillerno NHS chronicles its accomplishments of the
past year and shows how information and communication technology (ICT) is helping our
students thrive. The Annual Report outlines school’s efforts in improve connectivity, boost
human capacity, foster economic development and modernize the framework service of the
school.

The 2013 Annual Report is organized around the goals of our 2013 Action Planl ICT Strategy,
which are addressed through several different programs and comprise of unique projects during
the entire school year.

With the advent of the new technology, all people in all walks of life especially the young ones
are craving to learn computer-related skills such as electronic mails which is considered as the
fastest way of sending messages here and abroad, excel which facilitates the quickest way of
finding solutions to mathematical problems, power point presentation which is widely used by
lecturers,spreadsheets, photo editing website designing, and a lot more.

Studying short computer courses in private schools is expensive which we are sure not everyone
can afford due to financial constraints. It is through San Guillermo NHS ICT elective that these
young people of the Barangay and its neighboring can acquire the said skills for free.

San Guillermo NHS ICT elective in its capacity of serving technology and basic computer
literacy education is preparing the students for their future to be self-reliant, independent, and
productive citizens in our country whether or not they can proceed to a tertiary education.
Learning computer skills is of great help to students to get ready of whatever challenges they
may face. If computer skills are thoroughly learned, students will have a better assurance of jobs
in the future since all institutions and business establishments are now using computers.

The school has a great responsibility of ensuring that all students will be accommodated and can
obtain enough and reasonable computer skills in the duration of the course.

The following are the programs implemented and issues resolved concerning ICT:

1. Offering of ICT elective in the 4th year level

With the joint initiative from the School Principal and the ICT department, in cooperation
with the other teacher of TLE. Students in the 4th year level were able to choose an elective they
want to pursue, for its our goal to equip students with skills that will be utilized in the real world.
Our ICT elective include the mentoring of the following basic computer applications:

A. MS Word – the most basic of all programs that has a real world application. This will
be the learners introduction to ICT and serve as the springboard for the next step of
the ladder.

B. MS Excel – This subject area is the next offering after the class has fully mastered the
first stage. This second stage will open their minds in the opportunities and advantages
brought by computer technology
 C. MS PPT – After acquiring skills in word and excel. The third quarter offers students
the chance to create beautiful and one of a kind presentations using the powerpoint
program, utilizing the skills learned from previous programs. This next big step will
be an easy transition because of the programs previously taken.

D. Blogging and Web page designing – The last quarter offering is the most advance
course offered, after the acquisition of all the basic computer skills. Learners will now
be able to let their imaginations go wild, and express themselves in various creative
forms, by learning how to create blogs and creating their own internet home page and
utilizing the tools the internet has properly and productively.

2. Internet Connectivity

Through the efforts of thePrincipal and the entire faculty. The school’s eclassroom was
able to acquire an internet connection with PLDT MyDSL. It was very useful particularly on the
programs that were taught during the third and last quarter. It is also wifi equipped, therefore
learners that bring their own laptops were also benefitted.

3. ICT Trainings

Almost everyone of the school’s teaching force were able to attend and be equipped in
ICT by the EXCITE training program, thus ensuring the competence and endless pursue in
service excellence of everyone dedicated in giving quality education.
