We, in the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) Caraga

issued Appointment Orders and Identification Cards to the Deputized Fish

Warden in every Municipality who have undergone training conducted by BFAR
in the previous years up to the present. However, as provided for by R.A. 7160,
otherwise known as the Local Government Code of 1991, the Local Chief
Executive, in line with their fisheries development, protection, preservation,
management and conservation programs have the power to appoint employees
such as Fish Wardens within their jurisdiction pursuant to Sec. 455(b)(1)(v) of
the said law. The said appointment would entail the issuance of the Identification
Cards of the Deputized Fish Wardens with the Municipality.
Given the said precedent, BFAR Caraga will no longer issue Appointment
Orders and Identification Cards but will only issue a Certificate of Completion to
those who completed the training on the Deputized Fish Warden conducted by
the BFAR personnel pursuant to Sec. 124 of R.A. 8550 as amended by Sec 158,
Rule 158.1 of R.A 10654.
