HR’s Positioning Analysis to Top-Level Management

Planning and Execution: A Qualitative Study

Suggested research title was formulated in this manner to:

 Clearly imbibe, at first glance, to readers that this study is qualitative
 Eliminate simple confusion (HR’s participation)

Abstract:

Abstract was correctly written consisted of 150 words or less, a general rule. It
tackled important points of the study: what to study, how to gather data, results and
implications of the study.

The only portion suggested to be changed is the phrase HR as support service

storyline by all the respondents in an academic institution and within HR as business
partner storyline by all of the respondents in the business organization… and should be
written as HR as support service storyline by all the respondents both in an academic
institution and in the business organization… this is to avoid lengthy phrase to simple
idea.

Introduction

Introduction focused on the importance of HR management in an organization

specifically academic and business. However, results of poor HR management were not
given importance as motivator for the need of this study. Thus, suggestion of including
instances of negative results of poor HR management is incorporated in the introduction
to press more bearing to the need of this study.

Review of Related Literature

Comparative review of related studies and literature regarding poor and efficient
HR management should have been included.

Research Objectives

 Statement of the problem was identified as objective.

 Research objective was not clearly enumerated.
 Research objective was generally declared, to describe the dynamics of
HR participation in top-level planning and strategic execution by focusing
on the three elements of a discursive action (i.e. positions, storylines, and
speech acts). However, reason/s of the description was/were not
elaborated.

Method/ Data Collection and Analysis

Suggestion of Focus Group Discussion should have been more effective as
method of data gathering in this study. Also, as written, audio-recorded data were
unavailable. However, in the data collection and analysis of this study, researchers
noted that all interviews were audio-recorded.

Participants

Suggestion believes that participants should have been chosen and grouped into
two: HR management with union group and HR management without union group.
