HANDYMAN (RADIO)
Basic Salary: R80 316 p.a. • Ref. STS 39/10
Requirements: Grade 10 • one year’s experience in radio or
telecommunication maintenance using electrical/mechanical hand
tools • Code EB driver’s licence.
Key Performance areas: Assisting with the maintenance and
repairs to the radio masts, transmitters, antenna and radio
equipment.

MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT
Basic Salary: R73 247 p.a. • Ref. STS 40/10
Requirements: Basic literacy • one year’s maintenance experience
in either CCTV, Audio Visual, Public Address Fire/Security Alarm or
Access Systems • Code EB driver’s licence.
Key Performance areas: Assisting in maintenance and cleaning of
CCTV, security alarms & access control functional systems.

TECHNICAL ASSISTANT
Basic Salary: R100 866 p.a. • Ref. STS 41/10
Requirements: Grade 12 • understanding of the various
legislative requirements and City of Cape Town policies such as
Space Management policies and procedures • good working
understanding of AutoCAD • four years’ relevant experience with
AutoCAD • computer literacy (MS Office) • a valid Code B driver’s
licence.
Key Performance areas: Providing a drawing office service by:
• carrying out site measurements for drawings • ensuring that
space allocation and design proposals comply with the Corporate
criteria • liaising with service providers with regard to Electrical,
IT and Telecoms • assisting in ensuring an excellent service within
Facilities Management.

TECHNICIAN: ELECTRONICS
TECHNICIAN: RADIO
Basic Salary: R193 382 p.a. • Ref. STS 42/10
Requirements (ELECTRONICS): A three-year tertiary qualification
in the field of Electronic Engineering (CCTV, Security Alarms, Access
Control, Audio Visual, Fire Detection) or a related field • two years’
relevant experience • a valid Code B driver’s licence • must be
available 24/7 for critical network failures.
Requirements (RADIO): A three-year tertiary qualification in the
field of Radio Communications or related field • two years’ relevant
experience • a valid Code B driver’s licence • must be available 24/7
for critical network failures.
Key Performance areas: Supervising, repairing, maintaining,
installing, removing and repositioning of related equipment
• co-ordinating projects to ensure proper and cost-effective control
of resources, staff and time • ensuring that all assets and stock is
properly and efficiently controlled and audited • programming and
configuring equipment and systems • maintaining sound business
values with our clients and ensuring that we meet their expectations
• undertaking tasks and supervision of programming, configuring,
repairing, hardware installations of related specialised electronic
equipment • providing customer in-house training.

TECHNICAL ASSISTANT

Requirements: Grade 12 • CAD or GIS certificate • any Engineering
training will be an added advantage • at least one year’s drawing
office experience • required to work in all weather conditions
• ability to communicate clearly • working knowledge of MS Office

Key Performance areas: Undertaking specific field inspections
to measure, record information, verify correctness or find missing
data not in the as-built electronic record • gathering statistical
information from role players in the service • desktop GIS capturing
of information from as-built plans • verifying the correctness of data
in the as-built electronic record against other sources of information
• undertaking operational measurements such as flow or pressure
by utilisation of gauges and meters • defining and maintaining
spatial and numbered Node and link element models • production
of design or other CAD drawings and schematics • bitmap scanning
and file indexing of as-built drawings only available in hard copy.
