Tuberculosis is an infectious disease the highest figure affected by the disease

encountered in India as many as 1.5 million people then order two is China, which
reached 2 million, while Indonesia ranks 4th for morbidity, while the cause of death
ranks 5th and invaded most productive age group from weaker socio-economic
groups. The research objective was to determine the relationship of family
knowledge and physical condition and the incidence of pulmonary tuberculosis in
Work Area Health centers Putri Ayu Jambi city.
This research is a quantitative study using cross sectional method. The study
population numbered 53 people, totaling 51 samples were selected by Total
Sampling. The research location in the Work Area Health centers Putri Ayu. The
study was conducted on 31 August to 10 September 2016. The data were analyzed
using univariate and bivariate using chi-square test.
The results showed that the majority of respondents (49.1%) had low
knowledge, the majority of respondents (41.5%) physical condition does not meet
the standards, (50.9%) with Pulmonary Tuberculosis. The results of the bivariate
chi-square analysis shows that there is a relationship between knowledge with
Pulmonary Tuberculosis incidence (p-value = 0.008 <0.05), and there is a
correlation physical condition and the incidence of pulmonary TB (p-value = 0.029
<0.05).
Based on these results, it needs to be improved counseling to the public about
Tuberculosis Lung, and results of the extension is expected to increase public
knowledge of the Pulmonary Tuberculosis and its treatment. The results of this
study are also expected to add insight to researchers and can be used as a reference
to conduct further research on Pulmonary Tuberculosis.
