Housing Market
San Diego, CA, February 14, 2019 --(PR.com)-- Mission Federal Credit Union, San Diego's largest,
locally-based financial institution exclusively serving San Diego County, has conducted a survey to learn
about how San Diegans feel about the housing market in San Diego County.
The housing market has been challenging for many San Diegans the past several years, causing Mission
Fed to want to learn more about how to help make the buying process easier and more affordable for
members of the San Diego community.
Mission Fed surveyed 400 San Diegans between the ages of 25 and 54 about their concerns when it
comes to purchasing a home in San Diego County. The survey asked about purchasing challenges and
fears, and what the survey participants were willing to pay for a monthly mortgage payment.
The results are clear. Though nearly 70 percent of those surveyed are currently renting, today's housing
market is intimidating to get into for many San Diegans. Almost 85 percent of survey respondents believe
that the cost of a home will continue to rise over the next two years, which would make purchasing a
home even more difficult for many people in San Diego County. Predictably, when asked about the
greatest challenge in owning a home in the San Diego area, over 60 percent of those surveyed said it was
the home price.
While this wasn't surprising information for Mission Fed, it did confirm that San Diegans need help
buying in this market. Mission Fed 1st VP Real Estate Operations & Servicing, Vince Nowicki, said,
“Buying a new home is among the most important purchases ever made. We help make the buying
process less daunting and more affordable by offering competitive Home Loans.”
