Abstract

Rotary encoder is an electronic device that used to read binary code data and can be converted into velocity and
distance of the robot. Our proposed method was implemented at soccer robot. On the wheeled soccer robot
movement, we need to know the robot position inside the field so we need to use field mapping. One of the field
mapping method is by using rotary encoder and gyroscope sensor. These sensors enable us to determine the robot
position by using odometry method. Wheeled soccer robot will move inside the field according to the determined
position. This soccer robot mapping method doesn’t need high computer specification to process the data.
