Principal’s News:
Hola!
Catholic School’s week has been a huge success! It
was outstanding to see all our students in uniform at
Mass on Sunday.
Monday, 1/28, our students participated in a retreat
day where they gave service to different
organizations in the community. Our middle school
students boarded a bus to Hope Distribution Center.
They were able to sort food, clothing, and other
things needed to support the efforts of Catholic
Charities. Our students in Pk-5th grade learned
information about local human societies and made
toys for dogs and cats. Next Monday we will have, a
humane society come to collect the toys and share
more information about how they adopt animals.
Tuesday, 1/29, we honored our volunteers. Did you
know that we have almost twenty volunteers that
come on a weekly basis to support our school? The
volunteers were treated to a special reception and
received handmade cards from our students. We
truly appreciate their dedication to our school!
Thursday, 1/31, we learned about vocations. Our
students listened to Sr. Ellen and other presenters
about their vocation. Fr. John treated us to a special
talk about Holy Water, and students received a small
bottle of Holy Water to take home. During lunch, we
treated our teachers to a special appreciation lunch
to show our appreciation for their hard work.
Today, 2/1, we celebrated our students. Our
students received a small gift from the teachers and
had a dance party in the cafeteria. We are so proud
of our students and enjoyed celebrating their
participation in our school!
We hope all of our students enjoyed Catholic
Schools Week! We look forward to celebrating all of
the gifts we received through our Catholic Education
every year!

Servers Needed: Students in 5-8th grades are
encouraged to sign up to serve at Sacred Heart
Church on Saturdays and/or Sundays. Students may
use this as service hours for class and you may also

School Closings Policy: Winter can bring school
closings for inclement weather. This year our school
will work with the other Wyandotte County Catholic
Schools to determine if the school will close. I will
announce any school closings through Remind,
Facebook, Local News Stations (Wyandotte County
Mandatory Sacrament Prep
Meeting 2/11/19
All families with students in 2-8th grade must attend
the meeting on Monday, 2/11/19 at 7:30pm in the
Catholic Schools). Please make sure you are
staying up to date with all school communications by
participating in Remind and Facebook.

Blue and Gold Sweetheart Dance: If you did not

pick up your Blue and Gold tickets, your tickets were February 16th 6:00pm-11:00
put in your blue folder. All families who receive
scholarships are required to sell four tickets (each Pierson Park Community Center
ticket is $30.00) to this awesome event! All families 1800 S. 55th St, KCKS 66106
who do not sell four tickets will be responsible for the
cost of the tickets not sold. All funds raised from this Cost $30 for dinner and two drinks
event will go to PTO for events and expenses. Life Raffle and Cash Bar
Please consider volunteering for this event! All time
spent may be logged as service hours.

Conferences are just a few weeks away! We have
scheduled this day to allow parents or teachers to
request a conference. Conferences that are not

School Families,

We received a message from Remind about an update for families who use Verizon Cellular services…

We’re sorry to write with disappointing news. Recently, we learned that Verizon will be charging Remind a
new fee that makes it impossible for us to continue supporting free text messaging for anyone who has
Verizon Wireless as their phone carrier. Please read on for all the important details—we promise to keep this
as short as we can.

How will this affect you?

Beginning January 28, 2019, the people who normally get your Remind messages as texts will no longer
receive these messages if they have Verizon Wireless as their phone carrier.

What can you do?

To make sure you continue receiving your messages, ask them to download the mobile app or enable
email notifications—both of which are free of charge. Our team’s also working hard on a solution that
allows your classes to continue to use Remind by text, and we’ll share more details with you before
January 28.

Noticias de la Directora:
¡Hola!
¡La Semana de Escuelas católicas ha sido un gran éxito! ¡Fue
sobresaliente el mirar a todos nuestros estudiantes en uniforme en la
Misa del domingo!
El lunes 1/28, nuestros estudiantes participaron en un día de retiro
donde ellos dieron servicio a diferentes organizaciones en nuestra
comunidad. Nuestros estudiantes de escuela secundaria abordaron el
camión para ir un Centro de Distribución de Esperanza. Ellos pudieron
sortear comida, ropa, y otros artículos de necesidad para apoyar los
esfuerzos de Caridades Católicas. Nuestros estudiantes en el PK-5
grado aprendieron información sobre las sociedades humanas e
hicieron juguetes para perros y gatos. El próximo lunes nosotros
tendremos una sociedad humana que vendrá a recoger los juguetes y
compartirán más información sobre como ellos adoptan animales.
El martes 1/29, nosotros honramos a nuestros voluntarios. ¿sabían
ustedes que tenemos casi veinte voluntarios que viene semanalmente
para apoyar a nuestra escuela? A los voluntarios les ofrecimos una
recepción especial y recibieron tarjetitas hechas de nuestros
estudiantes. ¡Nosotros realmente agradecemos su dedicación a nuestra
escuela!
Jueves 1/31, nosotros aprendimos sobre vocaciones. Nuestros
estudiantes escucharon de la Hna. Ellen y otros presentadores sobre su
vocación. El Padre John nos ofreció con una charla especial sobre el
Agua Bendita, y los estudiantes recibieron una pequeña botella para
llevar a casa. Durante el almuerzo, nosotros ofrecimos a nuestros
maestros un almuerzo especial para muestras nuestro agradecimiento
por su arduo trabajo.
Hoy 2/1, nosotros celebramos a nuestros estudiantes. Nuestros
estudiantes recibieron un pequeño obsequio de los maestros y tuvieron
una fiesta de baile en la cafetería. ¡Nosotros estamos muy orgullosos
de nuestros estudiantes y disfrutamos celebrando su participación en
nuestra escuela!
¡Nosotros esperamos que todos nuestros estudiantes disfrutaron de la
Semana de Escuelas Católicas! ¡Nosotros estamos en la espera de
celebrar todos los regalos que hemos recibido a través de la Educación
Católica cada año!

ocasionar cierre de escuelas por el clima inclemente.

Nosotros recibimos un mensaje de Remind sobre una notificación para las familias quienes usa los servicios
de celular de la compañía …

Nos apena el escribirles con estas desagradables noticias. Recientemente, nosotros supimos que Verizon
comenzara a Remind una nueva cuota que hace imposible para que nosotros continuemos apoyando los
mensajes gratuitos para nadie que tenga un celular del distribuidor de Verizon. Por favor lea todos los
detalles – nosotros le prometemos de mantener esto lo más corto posible que podamos.

¿Cómo le afecta esto a usted?
