Reality of Music(Muslim Version) :

To what Extent Islam allows(Permit) Music:

“And of mankind is he who purchase idle talks(i.e music,singing,e.t.c) to mislead (men) from
the Path of Allah without knowledge, and takes it (the Path of Allah, the verses of the Quran)
by way of mockery. For such there will be humiliating torment(in the Hell-Fire)”{Surah
Luqman 31:6}

to music:

 When Sayyidana Abdullah Ibne Masood(R.A), avery close companion of our Prophet
(S.A.W) was asked about the meaning of the term ‘lahwal hadith’ ,he replied

“I swear by Him besides whom there is no other Allah,that it

refers to ghinaa(singing)” __This statement, he repeated three
times.this view is unanimously supported by the four Khalifaa, the
eminet Sahabaah, Tabi een, The four Imams and other reliable
Islamic scholars and authorities,

 Various Ahadith also clearly prohibit music and the use of musical instruments. Hazrat
Abdullah bin Umar(R.A) reports that once Rasulullah (s.a.w) heard the sound of the flute
of a shepherd.He immediately placed his fingers into his ears( to block out the
sound)(Musnad Ahmad). ____How tragic it is that our beloved Rasulullah (S.A.W) block
his ears to the sound of music but his Ummah opens their ears wide to the same sounds.
 “Verily Allah Ta’ala has sent me as a guidance and as a mercy to the Believers and He has
commanded me to destroy musical Instruments”(Musnad Ahmad)

Music plays a great role in stimulating one’s emotions, lusts and passions and also leads
to various physiological disorders. This is a proven concept in psychology

___Yazeed bin Waleed An Naqidh (rahimahullah) has advised:

“Oh Bani Ummayah, save yourselves from music, as it would decrease your modesty,
increases your lust and demolish your morality. It would create within you the fondness of
wine and it will lead you to do what a drunken person does. If (as a last resort) you really
have to listen to music then, at least save your womenfolk from it for verily music leads to

fornication.”

Narrated by Ibn Abi ad Dunya in dham al malahi and Al Bayhaqi in Shuab al Iman)

 Fuzail bin Ayaaz (rahimahullah) has said: “Music is the catalyst to zina”
(Narrated by Ibn Abi ad Dunya in dham al malahi and Al Bayhaqi in Shuab al Iman)

 Said Ibnul-Jawzee (d.597H) –rahimahullaah, “Indeed, the heads of the companions

of ash-Shaafi’ee (radiyallaahu ’anhum) prohibited listening to music.”

 The Madhhab of Imaam Ahmad Ibn Hanbal:

From ’Abdullaah Ibn Ahmad IbnHanbal who said, ‘I asked my father about music,
so he said, ‘It does not surprise me thatmusic cultivates hypocrisy in the heart.”

 Said Ibn Taymiyyah in

Minhaajus-Sunnah(3/439), “The four Imaams are all agreed uponthe
unlawfulness (tahreem) of music such as the flute and its likes.”
 So these four Imaams who are from the most outstanding Scholars of the
Muslims haveruled that it is unlawful (haraam) to listen to musical
instruments, stringed instruments andsigning. So who can come with more
knowledge than these ones, whether he brings anagreement or
 disagreement. And is there anything after the truth except falsehood?
Andthe last of our calls is that the praise is for Allaah, Lord of the worlds,
and may the peace,greetings and blessings of Allaah be upon our Prophet
Muhammad and upon his familyand all of his Companions.

 WHY?

1)---HAZRAT DAUD (DAVID) PEACE BE UPON HIM HAS THE MIRACLE OF MUSIC ,HE
WAS PHILHARMONIC , HE KNOWS THE EVERY POTPOURRI , HE HAS THE
UNMATCHLESS TUNE ,
HE HAS THE BEST INTONATION ,HE HAS A LOT OF CHORD ,WHENEVER HE STARTS
THERE CHORAL MUSIC THE HUMANS , MOUNTAINS , ANIMALS , BIRDS AND EACH
AND EVERYTHING ATTRACTS TO LISTEN HIM .

IF THE MUSIC (MOSEEQI) IS HARAM ?? SO WHY ALLAH GAVE HIM THOSE MIRACLE
WHICH IS HARAM ??? AFTER ALL HE WAS THE MESSENGER (PROPHET) AND HIS
NAME WAS ADDED IN THE BEST FOUR PROPHET , WHY ???---

Ans)---- You must be aware of the fact that Sharab(wine, alcohol)

 once was allowed in Islam and was considered as cure for some diseases,
but later on, It was declared Haram ! Why ?

because there is some good in alcohol but the bad outweighs the good.

Similary, Music may have some benefits but ultimately it outweighs the
benefits and considered as distracting thing in Islam.

perfumed, and a pile of trash can make the wind
smelly. This shows that even sitting in gathering of
Bad peoples can decay you from inside whether you
recognizes it or not. That’s how Human behavior is
controlled through music of People.
