ABSTRACT

Since the Maintenance Management is one of the most important aspects in the new
economic policy developed by our country, the current research is aimed at carrying out
an audit on the Maintenance Management of the «UEB Empresa de Fusibles y
Desconectivos of the Empresa de Producciones Electromecánicas» (Company on
Fusels and desconectives which belongs to the Company of Electromechanical
Productions).
In order to solve the research problem a conceptualization on the Maintenance
Management was carried out, for instance: maintenance definitions, systems, different
maintenance types and the analysis of different audit models, both, in the national field
and the international arena. This conceptualization process composes the first chapter
of the current research.
The practical application of the audit model in the company to be assessed resulted in
an appropriate behavior in the maintenance management which obtained a mark of ¨B¨,
detecting functions and factors with a negative incidence in the areas. An improvement
process must be focused to perfect the performance of this function in the company.
The analysis of the detected issues according to the different functional areas and the
drawing up of a measures plan to solve the most critical problems are the most
important aspects dealt with in the third chapter.
