1. Registering new ONT

Data required

• GPON port location F/S/P (where the user connected).

• ONT serial number SN
• ONT ID
Registering new ONT using U2000 Manually

After receiving an SN response message from an ONU, the OLT checks whether
another ONU with the same SN is online. If yes, the OLT reports an SN conflict alarm to
the CLI or NMS. If no, the OLT directly assigns a user-defined ONU ID to the ONU.
After the ONU enters the operation state, the OLT automatically configures a GEM port
that has the same ID as the ONU ID for the ONU for carrying OMCI messages, and
allows the ONU to go online. In addition, the OLT reports an ONU online alarm to the
CLI or NMS.

2. HSI Service activation

Internet service data planning

- To ensure traceability of users we planned per user per service per VLAN
(PUPSPV) for the Internet access service.
- We use dual VLANs (SVLAN+C’VLAN) on the OLT to differentiate users for the
Internet access service.
- The outer VLAN (SVLAN), which identifies services and physical location of OLT,
allocated exclusively per OLT. The inner VLAN (C’VLAN) identifies users. C’VLANs
must be unique in one S-VLAN.
- For HSI, we adapted PPPoE dials up by using the PPPoE dial-up function of the
ONT.
- In the PPPoE access mode, a PPPoE user name and password will be used for
authentication and IP address allocation, at the same time, PITP Will be used in
OLT and BRAS to distinguish different subscribers and services in a security way.

- ONT, OLT and AAA need to be configure to enable E2E service.

- For future upgrade to automated provisioning OSS can connect to U2000 using
NBI standard interface also too AAA platform for automatic provisioning.

Data required

• GPON port location F/S/P + ONT ID

• SN
• Service VLAN
• C’VLAN
• GEM Port and ONT VLAN ( we will use 11 for all ONTs)
• outbound and inbound traffic table profiles
• PPPoE account

Note:
Service VLAN: each OLT have unique service VLAN.
CVLAN: user VLAN, used to uniquely identify each user inside one OLT.
Traffic tables: bandwidth assignment based on user requirement.

Check the Connection Status

In the navigation tree, choose Status > WAN Information. In the right pane, Status is
Connected and the obtained IP address is displayed at IP Address.
3. ONT subscription termination for any service

Data required

• GPON port location F/S/P + ONT ID Or

• ONT serial number SN Or

• ONT Alias (subscriber name/phone number)
