FIFTH B

Chapter 1

Narrator 1 (Sara Aguilar): Long time ago in China, there were a King and his
sister who lived on the top of a very high mountain.

Narrator 2 (Juan Esteban Álvarez): The New Year was coming and the King was
wondering how to celebrate in a funny way this special occasion.

King (Juan Pablo Alfonso): There must be some way to have fun with this.
Mmmm… Let’s see…

Narrator 3 (Sofía Barón): The king looked down toward the base of the mountain
trying to find some inspiration and saw some animals.

Narrator 4 (Alejandro Aulestia): There was a Rat, an Ox, a Tiger, a Rabbit, a


Dragon, a Snake, a Horse, a Sheep, a Monkey, a Rooster, a Dog and a Pig, among
others.

King (Juan Pablo Alfonso): Ah, why not! I’ll celebrate the New Year with the
animals! … Hey, Princess, Where are you? I need your help.

Princess (Ana Maria Cruz): Here I am… What’s going on?

Narrator 5 (Fabian Benavides): The princess appeared and the King told her his
plan.

Princess (Ana Maria Cruz): Is a good idea for me … We are going to have really
fun with this!
Narrator 6 (Jimena Bobadilla): Then, the princess went down to the base of the
mountain to meet the animals and to tell them the King’s idea.

Princess (Ana Maria Cruz): Hello everyone! I have a very important message to
tell you from the King’s part. On the morning of New Year’s Day you are invited
to come to the top of the mountain. The first twelve animals will reign, in turn,
for one year each as King of the Animals.

Chapter 2

Narrator 7 (Juan David Gordillo): When the princess said good bye, all the
animals began to quarrel. Each one wanted reign first.

Narrator 8 (Valery Macana): The animals made such a noise that even the King
and the Princess heard the quarrel from far away.

Rat (Sergio Cubides): Wow! King of the animals! Oh, boy!

Dragon (Juan José Betancourt): Yes, it sound interesting!

Tiger (Juan Pablo Marín): I am the strongest and I deserve to reign first!

Ox (Samuel León): I am the most laborious and I deserve to reign first!

Rabbit (Isabella Galeano): I am the tenderest and I deserve to reign first!

Dragon (Juan José Betancourt): I am the most powerful and I deserve to reign
first!

Snake (Paola Camacho): I am the smartest and I deserve to reign first!

Horse (Juan Esteban Mican): I am the friendliest and I deserve to reign first!

Sheep (Juana Díaz): I am the politest and I deserve to reign first!

Monkey (Santiago Acevedo): I am the most creative and I deserve to reign first!

Rooster (Karen Gómez): I am the most communicative and I deserve to reign


first!

Dog (Valentina Gómez): I am the loyalist and I deserve to reign first!

Pig (Tomás Infate): I am the most honest and I deserve to reign first!

Rat (Sergio Cubides): I am the most enthusiastic, but you can’t forget that who
arrive first to the top of the mountain will be the winner.
Snake (Paola Camacho): Yes, you are right.

Monkey (Santiago Acevedo): Then, we have to get up early on New Year’s Day!

Rooster (Valentina Gómez): Hah! That is not a problem for me!

Dog (Karén Gómez): Go ahead and see who wakes up first!

Tiger (Juan Pablo Marín): Surely, I will be the winner!

Ox (Samuel León): No, I will…You won’t beat me!

Rabbit (Isabela Galeano): No, I will!

Dragon (Juan José Betancourt): No, I will!

Snake (Paola Camacho): No, I will!

Dog (Valentina Gómez): No, I will!

Pig (Tomás Infante): No, I will!

Rat (Sergio Cubides): Guys, stop discussing… Tomorrow we will see who wins…
After all, we all have a chance to reign for one year.

Horse (Juan Esteban Mican): I agree with you… I am going to sleep now for being
relaxed for the race…

Sheep (Juana Díaz): I just can’t wait for New Year’s Day!

Pig (Tomás Infante): Me too…

Chapter 3

Narrator 9 (Dana Prado): Finally, it was New Year’s Eve. The top of the mountain
was bathed in the red of the setting sun.

Ox (Mateo Ordoñez): Well, it still doesn’t dawn… But I accept that I am slowly
animal… I think that is better to start to climb the mountain right now.

Narrator 10 (Juan David Gordillo): The slow but decided Ox started to walk
through the night towards the top of the mountain.

Rat (Juan Camilo Sierra): As I said before, who arrive first will be the winner…
And I already found a funny way to go to the top… hanged from the Ox’s Tail…

Narrator 11 (Dana Prado): Later, when the sun came out, the other animal began
to rise.

Rabbit (Sharith López): Nobody can beat my bounce for boing!

Tiger (Gabriel Murcia): I’d better start running!

Dragon (Juan Diego Rodríguez): Ok, I have given a lot of advantage to my


opponents… It’s time to join the race… (Flying)

Snake (Luisa Fernanda Reina): Oh, if I would have wings, it would be easier for
me to win…

Monkey (Angie Rojas): It doesn’t matter… Always do your best!

Horse (María Jose Pinzon): We are not the fastest animals in the world, but I
think that we have an opportunity.
Sheep (Sara Hernandez): Yes, You are right… We do this every day on the farm

Chapter 4

King (Andrés Valbuena): Todays is the day… Happy New Year, sister!

Princess (Marian Morales): Happy New Year, dear brother… I wonder who will
be the first.

King (Andrés Valbuena): Look! The winner is coming.

Princess (Marian Morales): I had never imagined that The Ox would be the first
in arriving to the top.

Ox (Mateo Ordoñez): Oh, I am really exhausted! I’m can’t continue…

Rat (Juan Camilo Sierra): Do not worry my friend! … I will win the race…

Ox (Mateo Ordoñez): The Rat is the first? How did that happen? I have been
cheated!

Rat (Juan Camilo Sierra): My Lord, I am the winner.

King (Andrés Valbuena): Congratulations, Rat! But I think that you couldn’t do it
by yourself.

second.

King (Andrés Valbuena): Good. Third place is decided.

Rabbit (Sharith López): I arrived too.

Princess (Marian Morales): The rabbit is number 4.

King (Andrés Valbuena): So the Dragon came in fifth place.

Snake (Luisa Fernanda Reina): I guess I came in sixth.

Horse (Maria José Pinzon): We finally arrived.

Sheep (Sara Hernández): It wasn’t as far as I thought.

King (Andrés Valbuena): The Horse became the seventh to arrive and the Sheep
the eighth.

Monkey (Angie Rojas): Hello everybody, are you waiting for me?

Princess (Marian Morales): The Monkey is number nine.

Dog and Rooster (Karen y Valentina Gómez): We almost arrive at the same time!

King (Andrés Valbuena): Then, the Rooster is number ten and the Dog is number
eleven.

Princess (Marian Morales): Well, are we all here yet?

Pig (Alejandra Martín): Sorry my Lord, I went up the wrong mountain first,

Princess (Marian Morales): All right, now we have all the 12 animals together,
right?

King (Andrés Valbuena): You will all take turns with each of you serving as a King
of the animals for one year at a time…The first is the Rat.

Princess (Marian Morales): And with the new king installed, let’s celebrate!

Rat, Tiger, Ox, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Sheep, Rooster, Dog, Monkey and
