Asexual Propagation in Plants Group Project

Directions: In pairs or groups of three, your task is to research an assigned area under asexual
propagation. Once you have received your topic, your group will research the material and
prepare a presentation that explains what your area is, what some of the methods under that area
are and how they are done, and provide images of these processes. EACH person in the group
must then create one of the asexual propagation methods you cover, which will be used to
visually show to the rest of the class. This can be done using food, wood, etc. This part of the
project is worth 60 points.
Minimum Requirements for Presentation:
1. Presentation should be at least 12 slides in length.
2. Presentation should include at least 4 photos.
3. Presentation includes enough details to clearly describe the processes to the rest of the
class.
4. Grammar and spelling will be graded, so make sure you’re writing well! I know you can!
5. The presentation includes a slide at the end that cites at least 2 sources in the proper
format (MLA).
6. NO PLAGARISM!! This will result in a zero.
Presentation Rubric:
Content – Thoroughly covers the aspects associated with the area
assigned and demonstrates an understanding of the material begin
researched and presented. The presentation includes images and 20 pts.
information explaining the processes that fall under the assigned area.
Each group member has an example of one of the methods they
discuss in their presentation and uses it to explain the concept to
classmates effectively.
Critical Analysis/Organization – The presentation shows
analyzation of material and examines and explains the topic
accurately and correctly. The presentation goes beyond simply 15 pts.
listing of facts and includes where the process is used and why.
Presentation – The students make a genuine effort to present and not
just read the information. The group takes turn presenting the
information and it is apparent that they worked together on the
presentation. Each member makes eye contact and speaks loudly and 20 pts.
clearly. The presentation is not distracting or messy and helps the
rest of the class understand the material presented.
Mechanics – Spelling, grammar, punctuation, font size, citations, etc.
are present and used correctly. Presentation meets all guidelines set
forth and is executed correctly. 5 pts.

Peer Evaluation
Directions: While working in your groups on this project, you will be grading yourself and your
peers on how much you all contributed to and worked on this assignment. On a scale of 1-5 you
will give yourself and your group members a grade. 1 being the lowest score, 5 being the highest
score. Keep in mind this grade will directly affect your overall grade for this assignment. You
MUST fill this out for yourself and your group members. Taking this into consideration, this
part of the rubric is worth 40 points.
