Mid-Term Project

We are through Ch. 6 of the book, so you will be


completing a mid-term project
Your project will be due on
Tuesday – March 5th, 2019

REQUIREMENTS:
 All projects are INDIVIDUAL projects
 ALL must be submitted in person or on Turnitin.com by Tuesday, March 5th, 2019
 Each project is worth 200 pts to your Essays and Projects portion of your grades
o So 35% of your final grade for the quarter

Soundtrack Project
You will be a creating a 10 SONG soundtrack for Chapters 1-6 of The Great Gatsby.
Your soundtrack will be created on PowerPoint.
- Must choose 10 songs that represent 4 characters and 6 different scenes throughout each Chapter 1-6.
- Your slides should be as follows:
 SLIDE #1: Title Slide
 Name, Date & Class Period

 SLIDES #2-5: (4) Characters - Each slide of the PowerPoint must have…
 Character name and 1-2 sentences on who/what the character is about
 A song that represents the character and everything we know about them so far
 Name of song, and portion of the lyrics (not all lyrics)
o Preferably the part of the song that represents that scene the most
 1-2 sentence explanation of why that song represents that character
 Pick any FOUR of the following characters:
o Nick Carraway o George Wilson o Meyer Wolfsheim
o Jordan Baker o Myrtle Wilson o Dan Cody
o Tom Buchanan o Catherine Wilson
o Daisy Buchanan o Jay Gatsby

 SLIDES #6-11: (6) scenes from each of the 6 chapters we’ve read so far - Each slide of the PowerPoint must have
 1-2 sentence description of the scene and which chapter its from
 Name of song, and portion of the lyrics (not all lyrics)
 Preferably the part of the song that represents that scene the most
 1-2 sentence explanation of how the Song represents the Scene
