General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) is a packet oriented Mobile Data Service
available to users of Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) and IS-136
mobile phones. It provides data rates from 56 kbit/s up to 114 kbit/s.
MMS – Multimedia messaging services is used to send photos, video-clips, Audio files,
Multimedia files from the mobile phone.
For using GPRS service, MTNL has to activate the facility in the system and the
subscriber has to do the GPRS & MMS setting in his mobile Handset.
Note: Subscriber has to ensure the Mobile handset is GPRS enabled for using the
services.
Dolphin (Post-paid) Subscribers can call at 1503 and book a request for the service. Also
they can visit any MTNL Sanchar Haat for booking GPRS service.
Trump subscribers (prepaid) can activate this facility through SMS by type ACTGPRS
and send to 444. For deactivation type DACTGPRS and send to 444.
i. First note down your mobile handset model as the settings are handset specific.
ii. Please call Dolphin Call center at 1503: Request for the settings at the call center

Typical manual settings, which are necessary for the entire range of handset models,
having MTNL mobile connection with GPRS.

(i) National Roaming : GPRS will work wherever the BSNL Mobile network is GPRS
compatible.
(ii) International Roaming: GPRS facility is not available, at present, while roaming
abroad
