Malaysian Government Securities (MGS) - long-term interest-bearing bonds issued by the Government
of Malaysia to raise funds from the domestic capital market for development expenditure.
MDEX- A privately held exchange for futures and options located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, that was
formed in 2001 through the merger of the Commodity and Monetary Exchange of Malaysia and the
Kuala Lumpur Options and Futures Financial Exchange. The Malaysia Derivatives Exchange is owned by
the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange.
Bursa Malaysia-Bursa Malaysia is the stock exchange of Malaysia where financial instruments such
as equities and derivatives are traded on a day-to-day basis. It is in Kuala Lumpur; it was previously the
Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange.
MESDAQ- separate securities market, mostly for listing technology-based companies. It is part of Bursa
Malaysia. The Mesdaq has now been changed to the ACE Market. ideal market for start-ups and new
companies which are run by entrepreneurs who are looking to push for more capital by listing their
companies public
