ABSTRACT

Effectiveness of ecological solid waste management in Brgy. 41 Bogtong Legazpi City

were examined to gather the necessary methods of waste evaluation. The problem of waste

management has become a serious issue to concern. This research examines the implementation

of different provisions in the said area and around Legazpi City. One hundred two respondents

were able to answer the questionnaire checklist that the researchers have provided. Information

such as waste reduction at source, waste proper segregation and information and education

campaign were collected to obtain the result of the problems in the Brgy. 41 Bogtong Legazpi

City. The finding revealed that the extent of implementation of the ecological solid waste

management RA No. 9003 yields a total weighted mean average ranging from 4.50-4.80 which

was interpreted as highly implemented. However, this result indicates that effective

environmental enlightenment would help avert the attitude of the residents to waste disposal and

management in the area.
