Artifact Reflection #1

In this history essay we were asked to research The Great Depression and The Recession

and compare and contrast the social and economic effects of both events. We were supposed to

learn the differences of social effects and economic effects on a society. To complete this

assignment I researched both events and used notes i took in class. I started the essay with

important background information on both events. I then compared statistics and stated which

event I thought had a greater social effect on society.

I believe this artifact belongs in the analysis category. I define analysis as breaking

down concepts and explaining the relationship between those parts. The analysis category relates

to my artifact because the task was to basically analyze the effects the Great Depression and The

Recession. We then had to compare and contrast the effects of the events and explain the

relationship between them.

I demonstrated advanced skills in this artifact. I would define advanced skills as skills

that you could use in the workplace. This relates to my artifact because the skills I used to

complete this assignment. I had to do research, take notes, and analyze effects of two major

events. I could use these skills in the workplace to complete my future assignments.

Some challenges i encountered while completing this assignment were finding a solution

to these problems. The strengths I demonstrated in this assignment were being able to analyze

events and take notes. In the future i need to improve my problem solving skills.
