CONTEXT
Asset, Strategy and Reliability’s purpose is to optimise Group production performance through a step-change in
maintenance and reliability of plant and equipment.
PURPOSE
Deliver in a sustainable manner the availability and reliability offered of the power system at an optimal cost,
through:
• The correct administration of the Human Resources and the Assets.
• The Leadership in Safety, Environment and Social Affairs.
• Budget control and KPIs established for the area.
• Specialized services (power system maintenance and power supply contracts)
• Continuous improvement.
TYPICAL TASKS

 Lead, implement and enforce the policy, safety procedures to ensure a safe work environment; increase
employee safety awareness and behavior.
 Ensure that employees (contractors) receive adequate training and education. Basic or specific induction
on safe module.
 Lead and ensure compliance with the established Health and Safety Management System, through a
reactive to a proactive accident mitigation program.
 Manage the correct operation of the power system ensuring the supply to the complex according to the
quality standards and regulations.
 Manage the energy supply and power transmission contracts.
 Manage the general maintenance of power system assets, mainly through the administration of the
respective contracts. Responsible for guaranteeing the "KPIs" established.
 Manage scheduled and unscheduled activities; with quality, safely and at an optimal cost.
 Promote the culture of continuous improvement, through participation in specific improvement and
optimization projects. In order to meet the budget, optimize costs and electrical system availability.
 A detailed understanding of maintenance resources (people and tools) required to implement the
Maintenance and the Process.
 Ability to analyze maintenance plans and challenge the planners to ensure the plans, maximize electrical
system availability and reliability at the lowest cost.
 Lead a team that includes a large number of contractor personnel to ensure teamwork, cordial relations
and full integration with Anglo staff for the common achievement of results in the areas of safety,
environment, community relations, technical and cost.
 Manage the maintenance budget for assets under responsibility, through a weekly monitoring and
monthly control.

Mental Processing Ability This work involves the analysis, reflection and use of data for a short and medium
period, to anticipate problems. It requires knowledge of the general system and
focuses on the direct application and improvement of the systems.

Knowledge Formal qualifications:
 Engineering degree, preferably with specialization in the electrical
or mechanic electrical area.

Role-specific knowledge:
 No less than 6 years of experience in operation and maintenance of power
systems in mining.
 Experience with power supply and transmission contracts
 Knowledge and experience with predictive maintenance strategies of power
electrical installations.
 Electrical Power system studies.
 Knowledge of the Peruvian regulation in energy.
 Knowledge of English at a medium level.

safety practices with a deep understanding of and passion for the
importance of safety.

Technical Skills Ability to:

Process optimization (Level 3)


Optimizes the activities and processes of the assets under responsibility referring to
power system operation and maintenance through the effective management of
resources (labour and financial). Analyse key performance data and apply relevant
information to eliminate obstacles and deliver high performance in a timely manner.
In coordination with other areas, it optimizes the operation processes to guarantee
the effectiveness of the related operations. It incorporates new ways of working,
manages complex projects and increases cost savings.

Equipment management (Level 3)


Promotes the use, maintenance and improvement of effective equipment to achieve
the maximum competitive advantage in security and value. Work as a team with
other areas to achieve the established KPIs of availability of power supply, to
guarantee that Anglo American can comply with the production plan.
Applies specialized management knowledge and equipment / asset optimization to
drive improvements and innovations, incorporating the most advanced technology
and techniques.

Social Process Skills  Effectively influence and manage relationships with key internal and external
stakeholders to achieve required outcomes.
 Ability to facilitate agreement and co-operation using a diplomatic and open
approach.
 Effective in working with diverse teams and sensitive to local social, political
and cultural realities.
 Comfortably interact across all mediums of interaction i.e. face to face vs
virtual interactions with team and stakeholders.
 Uses networks in all stages of decision making to ensure decisions are not
made in isolation, though not to the extent that would be seen as abdicating
