ActiveBook Taken from Longman Physics for CSEC ActiveBook

ActiveBooks are interactive versions of textbooks –
literally the textbook onscreen - with added interactive
material that bring an extra level of questioning,
explanation or information. In the form of definitions,
glossaries, video clips and moving animations.
ActiveBooks appeal to students’ love of the technology
that permeates their lives, and they therefore interest
and engage students in ways that textbooks cannot.

The interactive nature of ActiveBooks has also been

proven to reach lower achievers and those students
with learning difficulties who would otherwise dismiss
textbooks.

ActiveTeach
An ActiveTeach is the teacher's interactive
version of the student's textbook and intended
for use in front of the whole class. Using an
ActiveTeach in a classroom enables the teacher
to command the attention of all students at
anyone time, while still referring to the
textbook that they have in front of them. They
can be used on whiteboards where available,
or projectors if required. As the ActiveTeach is
designed for the teacher the material it
contains is more plentiful, including extra
animations, questions, printable worksheets
and class discussion points.
