ALTERNATIVE PHYSICAL EDUCATION:


Two ways your student can earn the credits needed in PE are by completing the
requirements for the Aerobic Exercise option or the Interscholastic Sport option
found in the forms in the office wall rack at school or by clicking the following link:

papers are graded and grades are posted on NetClassroom.

GUIDANCE INFORMATION
Seniors should:
• have (2) teacher recommendations
• have copies of all college applications
• submit applications to the Guidance Office to meet the November 1 deadline
• have turned in a P.E. report to Mrs. Rough in the high school office

All shows begin at 7:00 pm (doors open at 6:30 pm) with an
additional matinee on the 13th at 1:00 pm (doors open at 12:30
pm)
in the Dayton Christian Auditorium
Tickets are currently on sale and may be purchased
by coming to the high school office.
All tickets are $8.00.

FROM THE CLINIC


PARENTS: With the cold and flu season approaching please note that you may
send in any over the counter medications needed to help your child out. Our School
Policy is all medications must be kept in the clinic with a note or medication form
signed by you. No student is to carry any medication with or on them during
school hours (limited exceptions). Medication sent in by you is kept in your
child’s name and placed in a locked area.

Sprite/7up, small bottled water, crackers
This is the time of year for sore throats, headaches, stomach aches, colds
and just plain not feeling well. These are the items we use most to help
your child “make it through the day” so your kindness in donating helps
us help them.
Also needed are Tide to go sticks, and sandwich size zip-lock bags for ice.

HELP NEEDED FOR VISION AND HEARING SCREENING
November 15-18th Middle School, December 6-7th (Elementary re-checks),
January 10-13th (High School plus Middle School re-checks).

MISSION SERVICE HOURS: Each student at DCHS is privileged to


meet hours of mission service per year (Freshmen need 20 hours;

Sophomores-Seniors need 30 hours). To report your hours use the blue
form found in the wall rack outside the high school office. The
Parent/Student Handbook gives more details and a list of approved
ministries.

BOYS BASKETBALL:
High school Boys basketball tryouts are on Friday, Nov. 5. Freshmen will be at South
Metro Sports from 3:30-5:30. Sophomores, juniors and seniors will be at Washington
Heights Baptist Church from 3:30-6:30. Prospective players must have an OHSAA
physical form on file in the athletic office before trying out.
COACH JAMES

SWIM TEAM:
Swim Team Information:
Swimming season begins Friday, November 5th with practice at the West Carrollton
YMCA from 5:30pm until 7:30pm. All interested athletes are welcome to attend, first
practice is very informal with plenty of opportunities to ask questions and gather
information. Great opportunity to test swimming skills and have fun with other Swim
Team members. All skill levels encouraged to participate.

Regular practice schedule will be as follows:


Monday and Tuesday: 7:30pm - 9:30pm at the West Carrollton YMCA
Thursday: 6:30pm-8:30pm at the Downtown Dayton YMCA
Friday: 5:30pm-7:30pm at the West Carrollton YMCA

Meets begin in December and January with typically one or two meets per week,
usually on Friday night or Saturday afternoon.
COACH HUBLER

LADY WARRIOR BASKETBALL:


Tryouts are scheduled for Nov. 1st and 2nd at Kingdom Sports from 5:30-7:30. If
you are interested please sign up in the office by 10/27/2010. There will also be an
open gym at Kingdom Sports on Tuesday from 4-6pm.

WRESTLING:
The season begins November 12. If you are interested in high school wrestling

Usborne Books, will be hosting a school book fair


in the library the week of November 1st to
November 5th, 2010, with a percentage of the
profits benefiting our library! (Please make checks out
to Usborne Books.)

Please be sure to stop by the library and visit the


book fair! There is always a need for volunteers
during the bookfair! For more information please
