Topic (a few words): Help animal shelters get more adoptions.

Topic in full sentence (identifies the problem): There are too many strays and it’s dangerous to both pets and humans,
along with negative impacts that come behind that worldwide problem.

Description of practicum (What do you see this journey being for you?)

Being a dog person really motivates me to help out animals in the shelters to care for them, even donate goods, and
advertise an adoption fair.

1. What are there so many dogs in animal shelters and why is it dangerous for strays to just be roaming around?

2. Who is being affected with over flowing shelters?

3. What are some ways to get the pets adopted?

4. How can strays be prevented and what leads them to end up in shelters?

5. Why do people leave their dogs abandoned?

What information did you learn through your research that you will apply to the practicum? Provide specific details. TO

My research gave me a more depth information on what actually goes on in animal shelters, and the
reasoning on why pets end up in animal shelters. In the articles, the negative impact that strays have on the
economy was actually listed, along with the ratios of pets going in and out of animals shelters yearly.

Learning Goals/Outcomes: What will you understand and/or be able to do as a result of your practicum?

I understand the facts and reasonings on my topic. My research answered my questions and conflict and I have more
knowledge on animal shelters.

How will you make a difference in other people’s lives from your journey. What impact do you hope to have?

I will make a difference in our community because stray dogs is one of America’s public management problem. The
impact I will have among these pets is positive and lessening the amount of pets in overflowing shelters.

Learning Stretch: How will this project be a new and meaningful challenge for you?

This project will impact me with new skills and help my anxiety, it is proven that spending time with animals lessens
those levels.

How will you display your final practicum in your digital portfolio? (Pictures, videos, screencasts, etc…) Remember that
ALL of your evidence must be on your portfolio. An interview must be filmed or have a transcript. Every picture must
have a verbal explanation (screencastify?) Anyone should be able to access your website and be able to understand every
step you took. You saying you did something is not enough. You must have evidence of every step. Be thorough
here!
