House Project

Below you are given the values for several measurements in a 2- dimensional house. Your job is
to figure out the values for all of the other lines in the house, using your imagination of how the 2-
D house will look like as a 3-dimentional one. You will need these values to answer the 10
questions that you will be given once your measurements are complete, and also to properly
construct your house later on in the project. All of the additional information that you will need for
this project is on the other side of this sheet. Good luck and have fun!

- The pieces information that you will need for the project are:
o Area of a Rectangle = Height x Base
o Area of a Triangle = Height x Base x 0.5
o Volume of a Box = Length x Base x Height
o The height of the roof of the house is 8m and the length is 20m
o The height of the walls of the house is 5m

- In the numbered questions (1-10), you must have both the correct
answer and the correct unit in order to get the question right and
receive your next question.

- Project Hints:
o If a question seems too difficult to solve, try to break it down into
smaller, more manageable parts, and simply solve the smaller
parts to come up with an answer for the whole.
o Work carefully and methodically. You will save yourself a lot of
time and effort if you write down all of the steps in your questions
and make sure that you do them right the first time.
