1. Write at least 3 challenges or concerns about teaching multicultural

education classroom.

a. Racial Prejudice – it has always been a challenge for teachers on how to

alleviate the prejudice in terms of the students’ race. The differences in
race make others feel they are superior and others are inferior.
b. Religion – different beliefs and different gods often result to clash of the
students. Teachers should make students to realize to respect others’
religion.
c. Socioeconomic Status – the social position in relation to others, based on
income, education, and occupation can create an environment full of
prejudices. This should be controlled by the teachers.

2. Conduct a survey of a class in your college. Find out the diversity of learners
represented by its students.

The diversity of the class is very apparent. The students have their
likes and dislikes that differ from other students. They had an activity that
helped me to identify the diversity. Every group chose a representative who
is an extrovert. Those who are introverts became the secretaries of their
respective groups. With this, those who are linguistically intelligent
(because they can use language eloquently) are the ones who reported in
front.
