mouvement : Sanguine) »
Bruno Peeters in Crescendo, septembre 1997
printanier ! »
Bruno Peeters in Crescendo, octobre-novembre 2004
Rémy Franck in Pizzicato, mars 2006
« Sound is spacious, immediate, and balanced, filling the aural canvas at climactic moments and
allowing the violin and cello to be heard as full partners. »
Adrian Corleonis in ArkivMusic.com, 2006
Michel Fleury in Classica-Répertoire, mai 2006
« Technique is clean and the musicians do not fall into the trap of being
overly sappy or self-indulgent. Interpretation is also well-considered and
pleasing; ensemble is tight and everyone seems to be on the same page
with regards to articulation, rubato, and pacing. »
Mike D. Brownell in All Music Guide, 2007
« Highly desirable Debussy programme that is unique in the catalogue. It is played by highly
talented Belgian-based group. »
David Denton in The Strad, mai 2008
Steven De Waele in Kwadratuur.be, mars 2008
« I find myself quite taken by this new disc. The continuity of the program holds the attention, the
performances strike me as idiomatic and sympathetic, and the recording is spacious yet richly
detailed, warm, and without any distorting reverb. »
Jerry Dubins in FANFARE, 2008

« These performances are triumphs of technique : not just the skill for
hitting the notes accurately, but also the taste required for their proper inflection. De May can
change the whole mood of a nocturne with one note or a single figuration.
His nocturnes are rich in meaning, yet sounds like no other performer's.
This recordings joins my favourite digital version of the nocturnes, wich includes those by D.
Barenboim, V. Feltsman and F. Chaplin.
It says much for De May that I really feel he has created his own new way of viewing the nocturnes.
The fusion of brilliance and emotion he forges is truly outstanding and can rank with the
achievements of the finest pianists.
If you think you have had your fill of the nocturnes and don't need another interpretation of them,
De May's is the version to change yout mind. »
