DSL605EW: HOW TO SETUP THE WIRELESS SECURITY

Note: The instructions are applicable to firmware version 120.83.1.

Objectives:
- This document was made to describe the procedures on enabling wireless security for DSL605EW.

Procedures:
1. Open your internet browser and key in http://192.168.1.1 on the address bar
2. If this is the first time that you’re setting up your router, you will see the screen below, if your wireless
modem/router have been configured before, click on the “Setup”
Setup tab to display the screen below. This setup
wizard will assist you on configuring your internet account, setting up your wireless, and set up the
authentication to access this user interface. Just click on “>> Step 1 : Internet Login Account Setting”

3. Next step is to input your “User ID”

ID and “Password”
Password for your internet account, please check on the screen below.
Just hit the link ”Next >>“ to proceed

 4. This page will allow you to input your desired “Wireless
Wireless Network Name / SSID”
SSID , just hit “Next >>” to proceed

5. This page will let you “Enable

Enable Wireless Security”
Security and input or auto generate the “Encryption
Encryption Key”
Key , just hit the link

Input your own Encryption Key

 6. This next page will allow you to “Enable
Enable Authentication”
Authentication and set the “User Name” and “Password”
Password for this user
interface. Hit “Next
Next >>”
>> to proceed.

7. A summary of the settings will be shown on the final page, as below. Click on “Finish
Finish >>
>>” to save the changes,
the wireless modem/router will reboot and the new settings will be in effect after reboot.

8. The next step will be to setup the wireless on your computer with the same security parameters that you set on
your wireless modem/router. For information on setting up your computer’s wireless connection, refer to your
computer’s documentation.
